Does everyone's EyeToy have major light probs?

Ruined

Regular
I bought an EyeToy a while ago but I never really used it because the thing just seems to require too much light. Even with a Halogen pointed in my direction and an overhead spot, the camera reports light problems and the picture is dim. The only way I've gotten it to work really well is by shining a bright desk lamp at my face... Is my cam broken or do they just require tons of lighting?

It needs contrast, not brightness. I've had problems in a well lit room where the skin and walls are too similar in brightness for the Eye-Toy to pick up. Close the curtains and it's much better.

More light means less noise, so more accurate results, but that only doesn't solve everything. Try shining a light onto the wall tso you're darker, or even try a pair of black gloves (only that gets warm very quick)!
