Destiny [PS3,X360,PS4,XO]

Oh man Bungie screwed up this update big time with the weapon balance. Either the patch notes are totally wrong or they're incompetent...

I haven't played Borderland and have no interest since it's boring single player, and yeah I'm sure it "inspired" Destiny (though Destiny's main inspiration is Halo which came out long before Borderlands), just as many games are now copying Destiny, but I heard the loot is 99% useless garbage. all these games people want to put out as perfect compared to Destiny have their own problems people gloss over.

Anyways it's a shame you lost interest and I guess we wont be seeing you and NRP in the thread anymore. Oh well it happens I guess. I'm looking at The Division as the one that could pull me away.
Sometimes it feels u never even read my posts, lol. I am not for or against the game, if that's what u think. I never even said BL2 is perfect, infact said it suffers from similar problems. And it was me in this thread who said most of teh loot in BL is trash and u don't pick it up. It was true, but now that the game's time is long gone they have increased the drop rate and I am getting wonderful stuff these days. But that's irrelevant. and BL is the inspiration of Destiny, HALO has no zones or loot tables. In fact, for the longest time Destiny was talked about as the "Borderlands+", Bungie developing over and above Borderlands. In fact, so many reviews found out that its not really that different.

I said in my last post , there is no real replacement for Destiny as of now. Borderlands 2 is three years old, obviously everyone interested has already played it. Even u are waiting for The Division.

Enjoy the game. I enjoyed it too :) and thank you for showing me out of the thread. Apparently its yours now -_-

Curious about SRL, played a race, felt okay, I guess. But without the combat....

Does Hard Light finally get the Arc Damage it deserved? Would like to try that out again.

I dont doubt Borderlands inspired Destiny as did many other media, I get vibes from Mass Effect to Star Wars at different times. But the most heavy gameplay influence is Halo. It's all incremental. I see tons of upcoming games from Overwatch to Battleborn, The Division, that seem to "borrow" from Destiny as well.

Anyways I've watched my bro play Borderlands on PC, definitely seems like a quality, clever title, but I've no interest as it's single player/non mmo.

Does Hard Light finally get the Arc Damage it deserved?

I doubt it considering they did away with elemental damage on primaries, with one exception, Zhallo Supercell which is arc. Half the nightfalls no longer have burns either.

Halo is their own game man, it ain't an inspiration, it is Halo at its core :) . THe way I see and from what they have mentioned its Halo base shooter+Borderlands' RPG mix of mechanics into shooting+Diablo structure+MMO grind+Dark Souls inspired difficulty in raids(Bungie says so).

The game is a gem of a title. The only other game where I consistently spent more time is Battlefield 3 due to its absolutely fantastic DLCs, all of them. I played that for almost 2 years without losing interest. Destiny is the only title to have come close.

I really wish they have more of Queen's Wrath kindof events, events like Warframe used to have. A timed event like "Phogoth has been let lose on the Moon, help the Fallen take it down" ! Event live for only 10 hours. its nothing special, we already have been taking down Wolves in patrol, but it works very well and makes that always online actually make the world dynamic. Destiny is very very stingy when it comes to such stuff. Such things don't require a DLC pack.

wiuth their new shift to events, hope they go this way, but it has to be every week.

btw, Borderlands is 4 player co-op, not SP really. and honestly, it has the same/similar loop of loot as Destiny. Just that u get more stuff and the DLCs added a lot of more missions to play and a lot more classes too. They really fleshed out the game in DLCs,(which is something Bungie couldn't do) and that makes me very hopeful for Battleborn too, I am just wary that Battleborn's campaign isn't shown much, which equates to, imo, that it might be barebones.

I just hope Destiny 2 comes next year.

Hit lvl 28, light 147.

I think I finished the mainstory...lol, it suddenly finished. A short cutscene kicks in, thats it. Oh, I got a lvl 14 weapon...nice.

I am trying to upgrade Bladedancer subclass. It takes ages!

Just playing the house of wolves dlc.

Wasn't there another DLC? How do I start this?

Then I'll try TTK...

Btw, what is the difference of Strike and Raid? Never tried Raid so far...

there's Dark Below before HoW. Go To Eris for starting the Dark below questline.

Raid is a six man non-matchmade awesome long "strike" ! Go for Vault of Glass. Go to LFG for getting a group together. Have fun , Vault of Glass is one of the most memorable gaming experiences ever in an FPS game !

@Billy Idol when you reached level 40, make sure you keep attention to light level. Because after level 40, 'character level' is useless, it's 'light level' that determines how strong you are. I also recommend trying the old raid after level 40. It will give the same sense of wonder without the 'frustration' part. Especially on vault of glass because that raid is a wonder (in level design and game mechanic)

Starting with a Bladedancer wasn't really a good decision. With the exception of Crota probably the worst character for PvE.

Too be fair Gunslinger is fairly equally useless, if not moreso because BD invis has some utility in extremely difficult PVE...

Best PVE for hunter by far is Nightstalker, although even it is a bit dubious imo when solo....in groups though you can create a lot of orbs. Oh, and it's amazing how useful the little invis grenade. I think it saves your butt as much or more as all the bladedancer invis tricks put together, simply because of it's instant nature. Plus, tethering shit is just fresh and fun.

I didn't love Nightstalker at first (well correction, loved it at first, then decided it was useless, now have come back around) but it's grown on me, and while Warlock and Titan are still notably superior in PVE imo, at least Nightstalker tether has good utility and and is appreciated in a group setting, and makes Hunter less substandard than before in PVE.

Well, I made A Warlock first and then made a Hunter and went all the way as aa Bladedancer and honestly I never felt lacking in any way. Simply stating it my invisibility was always more useful than any other super my mates were throwing out. I was completely a Hunter during the HoW era and I rocked with it. Invis was a blessing in PoE. Bladedancer +Touch me Not is a very dependable combo. Saves the day when most needed.

For pve the old subclass is better for me.

Warlock with self revive

Hunter blade dancer invisibility sit and stab

Titan bubble

But if you play with group, yeah the new subclasses Is better

I have to agree with Rangers, Nightstalker is BY FAR the best PVE subclass for hunters IMO; arguably the best PVE subclass period. Tether is another damage buff and it keeps mobs of enemies together, invis smoke grenades can be very handy, plus you can create a shitload of orbs for teammates.

Sunsinger is still best when deaths can hurt the team (ie hard mode raids), but stormcaller is also great for clearing ads.

For Titans, Defender is still the best for the bubble, but sunbreaker is also good for clearing ads. Melting point is also a very good damage buff, but it doesn't last very long and you have to melee the target.

Hmm....Nightstalker is the only class I haven't tried yet cos my friend upped his Hunter for TTK (me titan and another friend a Warlock), maybe I should give it a go sometime.

I still think Self Res will forever be unmatched for general PVE utility, and it seems like bubble bros can do anything Nightstalkers can, better (weapons of light has same rough effect as tether, but is better because it protects the crew, as an example)

But yeah, Nightstalker is super fun and it's nice to be somewhat important in PVE for a change, Tether is nice.

What is nightstalker?! I only have gunslinger and bladedancer? How do I get the third subclass?
