Okay, this is a clueless-newbie question, but we're in the beginners' forum, so you're not allowed to roast me alive for asking!!!

What exactly is the difference between DDR memory and GDDR memory?

GDDR memory stands for Graphics DDR memory. It's a type of DDR memory especially suited for graphics cards. It is designed to offer high bandwidth, but at the cost of latency and power consumption.
