Dark Souls

Ahh ok. most people stop at SL120 for PVP. He must have over 2k in health so he can pretty much tank through anything.

Wahaha ! I'm SL167 myself (in NG+). Can take 1-2 backstabs depending on how high level the enemies are.

When I watched him fight, he struck before the enemy could close in on him. He was barely hurt. Most of the people just didn't think they would get hit that far out. Anyway, I'm dropping my white soulstone now. Will see who I encounter tonight. ^_^

Once every few minutes. Sometimes as long as 5-8 minutes, sometimes, back to back within a few seconds. ^_^

EDIT: Wait a minute, how does an invading Blue Phantom summon another Blue Phantom to help him ? The summoner and I almost killed a Blue Phantom. He ran away, disappeared for 3 minutes and came back with a friend. Together, they killed the summoner (by casting the "slow down" spell).

He can't summon them, but it's possible that multiple phantoms invade the same player. When I was in the Forest covenant there was often more then one of us sent after the same player. Of course they were usually smart enough to bring their own backup.

I think 3 invading phantoms is the maximum you can have at the same time.

I have the dragon suit... its ok. Its really not worth all that investment in time just for that force attack. Better off rolling a strength/faith hybrid. 28 faith is all you need for WOG. You can still have 40 END, 40STR and 40 VIT with about 10 levels left over to hit SL120

I read on the DSwiki that the strength of the unarmed attack is fixed. So for me at SL60, it's the strongest attack I can do against most enemies. At SL120 some weapons will probably become stronger. I also haven't found the best Embers, so I can't make the best weapon upgrades yet.

I also like not looking like something that's been dug out the ground.

I re-rolled my strength build... I was stunlocking people left and right but didnt have enough stamina to finish them off... I could get off only 3 consecutive swings using BKGS.

I can only swing 4 normal attacks, or 2 heavy attacks with BKGS right now.

So now I'm going to invest more points into END so I can carry more weight so I dont have to use Havels ring. Instead of Havel's ring, I'll use RFAP to add 20% more HP, Stamina, and weight carrying ability and Wolf ring to bring me over 100 poise. 100 poise is enough to tank through almost anything... the only people I have worry about are people wearing full havels set and an ultra greatsword/axe

I'm wearing Havel's ring. Reached strength 50 yesterday. I forgot to get "Dark Wood Grain Ring". I should retrieve it tonight.

Hope to carry Dragon Greatsword (or BKGS), Great Shield of Artorias, and the DragonSlayer bow in active combat.

My favorite is stunlocking someone and finishing them off with the BKGS 2HR2 attack.. first theres the huge windup and they go flying straight up in the air.... I always get indicted after I do that lol

I have not been able to use BGKS heavy attack yet. Too risky in combat. ^_^

I need to adjust my items to handle multiple enemies. Lost a couple of rounds last night.

What is the "exploding shield" magic the giants in O&S hall use ? That's very useful. I supposed it's a Miracle ?

I should also equip Healing magic. Some summoners are stingy with Estus Flasks. -_-

Yeah that's probably a Miracle. The guide lists the following Miracles: Force, Wrath of the Gods, and Emit Force. They all knock the enemies backwards. Wrath of the Gods and Emit Force also cause damage.

The dragon's roar also knocks enemies backwards, but doesn't cause any damage. Instead for about 5 seconds your own strength increases, letting you do about 1.25 times more damage.

The exploding shield is the force miracle. Wrath of gods is the same except it causes damage. Both are very useful (and abused) in pvp because of yhe quick cast time and abilty to spam . Its not so useful in pve. Emit force is lobbing a force ball .

Its rude that your summoners dont heal you. I always take care of my phantoms

I think the unarmed attack does 300 dmg. At SL 60 you should already have access to Anor Londo and the ability to forge a +4 lightning claymore that does 500+ dmg.

The dragon suit does look cool and it's rare to encounter someone wearing it. The tiny wings looked weird to me after a while... loved the mask though and the dragon breath is really useful to kill those annoying bugs in blighttown

*Sigh* Too late for me. The girl who sold those miracles died. I waited too long to see her.

Got my Darkwood Grain Ring. Not as good as I thought. It's great if you are less than 50% burdened. It will allow you to roll as if you are 25% loaded. However if you exceed 50%, you will still be weighted down.

It does about 300 dmg, but the backstab often does twice that.

I have a lightning Washing Pole +3, but I don't have the titanite to upgrade it beyond that. I have found that the lightning and fire weapons are effective against some enemies, but not so much against others. The unarmed attack is all normal damage and stays quite effective.

Do you see a lot of PVP action at SL167?

At SL180 now.

PvP becomes rare in Anor Londo. If I get summoned, it's mostly to enter a world where the summoner has killed Gwynevere, plunging the entire world into darkness. Nothing much to kill there except occasional invaders.

However if you move to Darkwood Garden and join Alvina, you can find a PvP game every 20-30 seconds. The enemies are tough though. Saw a dude who could deal 1020+ damage with a single hit. Get killed most of the time as an invader. I need one more victim to get the Ring of Fog. :)

EDIT: I have switched to a Fire Zwei + 10. It's better than the BKGS for PvP because of its reach and slight speed advantage. Damage is comparable (slightly lower).

I think the best PvP build is indeed strength + faith. Wrath of God is invaluable in PvP because of its cast speed, stun, coverage and high damage. Is the "Slow down" spell a Miracle or Magic ?

After you get used to their moves and can block their hit without stagger, they are quite easy to take out.

They were tough the first time I bumped into them. I took the lift down, and this chap barged in and killed me right in the elevator.

They are easy to take out right now. One backstab that's it. I was expecting more out of them.

That cursed Greatsword of Artorias was useless against them though. But going in unarmed made them easy. That Dragon Torso Stone keeps kicking ass.

Bah, if you can beat Ornstein and Smough, the rest should be relatively easy.

Come play PvP ! I hope they add party PvP in a Dark Souls DLC. Then we can go hunting together ! ^_^

You mean the Dark Wraiths don't fly backwards if you thrust the Greatsword of Artorias at them ? The BKGS also didn't move them. The Greatsword of Artorias is only useful when your stats are high because it scales with 4 separate stats (STR, DEX, INT, and FAI if I remember correctly).

Everytime someone makes this gesture in the game, I feel like kicking them down a cliff...

I'd definitely buy the DLC if there is going to be some. I hope they listen to what fans want for any DLC additions. I also want to see things like de-leveling your character. Demon's Souls also supported that in some limited way.

I hope it's kinda like an entire new area that's seamlessly connected to the existing world. There seem to be a few places where it would make sense, like that closed door at the Chaos covenant. I wonder how they would do new armour and weapons though, because it doesn't seem fair to use things not available to people who don't buy DLC against them.

I don't think I was able to stagger the Dark Wraiths with the Cursed Greatsword of Artorias. It did 236 damage against the ghosts, but only 70 against the Dark Wraiths.

I have the Very Large Ember now, and a good source for Titanite Clunks, so I should be able to improve my weapons.
