Blue phantoms invaders are from the darkmoon covenant.
It's actually not a dead player's items but gear you drop. Depending on what you drop they turn into a "vagrant." I've killed a bunch and I've always got humanity from them. I agree that its a really neat idea that' the devs incorporated into the game!

Nobody tells you
What does Darkmoon Covenant do ? I killed Gwyndolin in both games without joining him.
Re-read the guide. It says the Drift Item may appear at the location where the other MP player(s) died. Doesn't say anything about the source of the items. So you may be right!
Darkmoons invade the worlds of people who sinned (indicted). If you want lots of darkmoon invasions go to Anor Londo and kill big boobs lady lol.
I'm pretty sure that vagrants arent created by dead MP players... otherwise there would be ton of them at the kiln, since there's tons of invasions there.
I also started experimenting with heavy weapons. So far I like my +15 Zweihaender the best. It's not quite as painfully slow and heavy as other weapons its class, and the heavy attack is an instant win against just about any enemy which isn't extremely big.
Strangely, one of the friendly phantoms was bright orange/yellow?
One of the invaders was blue. Strangely, one of the friendly phantoms was bright orange/yellow ?
It's definitely the more fun and rewarding way to level up.
I saw a Lightning Zweihaender (probably + 5) in PvP action today. I was dumbfounded. This guy tore through 7 consecutive invaders alone. They threw spells and all sorts of weapons at him, but all of them were stunned and chopped up in 2 strokes. It's ridiculous !
I have been following this thread for a while. Never played the predecessor nor this, but I'm starting to get intrigued
Joined another covenant. The Path of the Dragon. Which is awesome.
I collected enough Dragon Scales to receive the Dragon Torso. Now I can change my character into a Dragon, making her way more powerful. I can't wear any armour, which is a downside, but it should be fun to see what I can do by changing my equipment to fit those strengths and weaknesses.
Blue invaders are darkmoons
orange phantoms are sunbros - my favorite covenant
4 kings gives you 60k souls if you beat it. Very easy way to earn souls.
At lower levels lightning zwei is pretty powerful if you have high poise. Pretty much tank through everything. At higher levels not so much!!
Heh heh, crazy FROM developers. I should try that too ! Have been saving up dragon scales.
A recent concluded sixty hour live play session of Dark Souls at Nico Nico Douga reached a 2.3 million viewer count, ITmedia reported over the weekend. This is a record figure for the video sharing site.
The broadcast, conducted by technology site Gadget Tsuushin, kicked off on January 3 at noon and ended on January 6 at 53 minutes past midnight. The broadcast staff, joined by Hiroyuki Nishimura, CEO of Nico Nico operator Niwango, played through the game twice. From Software gave permission for the broadcast but was not directly involved.
What's the best place to go after Anor Londo?
I'm exploring New Londo Ruins right now. I made a cursed Greatsword of Artorias. I haven't got the stats to wield it the game says, but it's one hit killing ghosts just fine.
I spend a few hours farming dragon scales just for this.
I'm thinking of focusing more on a strength build. If I can stagger my opponent with the dragon's roar and get a damage boost at the same time, I might as well make the next hit count. And I can still use my fire, lighting, and enchanted Washing Pole's if I need a faster weapon.
A source close to the project has told EGM that some form of expanded content is in the process of being finished up for Dark Souls, and will be released as DLC at some point in the first quarter of this year.
While we were unable to get further details on what this new DLC will feature, late last year it was discovered that From Software had filed for an interesting trademark in Japan. That trademark was for “Yami no Mori”—which could be translated as “Forest of Darkness” or “Dark Forest”.
While we have no reason at this point to believe that the two are connected, we also have no reason to instantly discount the idea.
Not sure what his stats are, but he's around SL160. I think most of the invaders didn't expect to get hit and stunned so quickly.
EDIT:
The Zwei's swing is incredibly wide (About 320 degrees ?), so you have to time and position very accurately to backstab him successfully. Otherwise, you'll be hit.
Yes, strength build is pretty interesting because you can play more weapons ! The Dragon Greatsword heavy attack looks the most terrifying if you can wield it (It's like a f*cking earthquake)
