Many cool features in, but I can't help but find funny how whenever they improve their SSAO algo, they show a comparison of a scene using it vs. one with not AO at all... Of course it looks better, but how about comparing it with the earlier/cheaper AO? Much more usefull, and I'm sure they know it.

Whichever SSAO was in the previous version of the engine, for example.

Not sure if I get it. They compare old SSDO vs. new SSDO. And they show for GI what exactly is calculated by the GI system (shadows, secondary bounces etc.). Where is the SSAO missing?

I thought they were comparing the new SSDO with no occlusion at all. The old SSDO didn't seem to do very much.

I used SSAO as a blanket term for all Screen Sapace algos that aproximate Ambient Occlusion, so SSDO would be included.
