How long does the infection last for ?
Up until the moment of death.
Up until you recover.

I seem to recall reading that it can take up to 28 days for traces of viral RNA to disappear from samples.
The digestive tract should also disable it as it's fat based. It's virions created in the respiratory tract and leaving out the mouth that infect people. One is unlikely to be infectious during all of those 28 days. There is evidence suggesting that antibodies will neuter the virus even though it will still give a positive test result.
It will be a hard time for people who were days on ventilators. Some of them will never fully recover. And how long does it take to recover?
What the hell?On Saturday, his pregnant partner Carrie Symonds tweeted that she had spent a week in bed with the main symptoms.
She said she had not been tested for the virus.
17% deaths? Wow. UK's at 10%. This BBC report reckons the Netherlands is going with an 'Intelligent Lockdown' and happy to let the virus spread 'slowly'.
Hang on, he's not hospitalised. "Taken to hospital" isn't qualified and risks people assuming the worst. I do wish the world used data and info properly to communicate what exactly reality is! He's there having tests, apparently. But if you see the video from before the weekend, he has no trouble breathing and claims only a temperature..."Mr Johnson, 55, tested positive for coronavirus 10 days ago." And now he is in the hospital since yesterday.
Seems every country that mentioned 'herd immunity' got branded. The BBC got confused (as did we briefly) because one press event discussed herd immunity but that was only as a long term goal which wasn’t clearly communicated and rectified a day later.
Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said the low case count is because several private labs were closed Sunday.
Dallas County Health and Human Services is reporting 43 additional positive cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total case count in Dallas County to 1,155, including 18 deaths. Of cases requiring hospitalization, about three-quarters (71%) have been either over 60 years of age or have had at least one known high-risk chronic health condition. Diabetes has been a chronic high-risk condition reported in over a quarter (28%) of all hospitalized patients with COVID-19.

i feel for the good people of the USA, the good, but it is a country now filled with ignorance, and one wonder how someone who is the president says "there will be a lot of dead ahead". Aren't people ashamed there the thing won?And now it's time where even the local States can not trust the US Federal Government.

Now it may be something of a cover-up, with him having loads of oxygen before making that video, and then being carted off, but the actual info is he's been ten days, hasn't fully recovered, so is going in for some check-ups to see why his temperature is still up.
