Now he’s actually on to the ICU, so it’s less funny.
In the ICU, like being treated? And not just walking around visiting patients in the ICU to see how the front lines are?

When you're in the ICU, it's getting pretty serious. If he continues to deteriorate it will be ventilator time. Hopefully it doesn't get worse than that, there are no options left available for treatment once you progress too far down that path.In the ICU, like being treated? i remember he was one of those negation-ists, exposing his people and allowing massive sports events and the like.https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2020/apr/06/coronavirus-live-news-boris-johnson-admitted-to-hospital-as-trump-again-touts-hydroxychloroquine
Yes, he is in intensive care now. I hope he will recover but he will test his own herd immunity theory.
there is a doctor in the usa who said a few days ago that when the doctors fear you might tire out -cause of the way the virus kills- and you start using a ventilator, 76% to 80% of the people die.Wthen you're in the ICU, it's getting pretty serious. If he continues to deteriorate it will be ventilator time. Hopefully it doesn't get worse than that, there are no options left available for treatment once you progress too far down that path.

Hang on, he's not hospitalised. "Taken to hospital" isn't qualified and risks people assuming the worst. I do wish the world used data and info properly to communicate what exactly reality is! He's there having tests, apparently. But if you see the video from before the weekend, he has no trouble breathing and claims only a temperature...
oh lol.Oh, yeah, I know what ICU is, just that on US News they're just as likely to say "Trump was in the ICU of XYZ Hospital" to mean he was on a tour to see how the medical teams are handling the situation. And I only made that clarification because earlier @Shifty Geezer had to clarify:
Yea each state is like a mini country. Each province is like that too.for those living in the USA, how do you think you can stop it? Does every state follow the same guidelines in such a huge country or there isnt an unified strategy and every state has their politics?
Does he smoke?Pretty bad for Johnson as he is overweight which gives him additional risk and then when he initially was in denial of the seriousness of the virus and shaking hands with the public. And likely also having infected his pregnant wife that way (she has tested positive now too).

small things that complicate it is the details like trying to avoid pushing buttons on the elevators 'cos someone infected might push them already, nor touch a keyboard someone ill touched, or shaking hands with them, sharing items with them, clean all the products you purchased at the mall, also the bags -someone could've touched them-, money, etc etc. Those things are as important as distancing.I don't believe USA is any different on this than eu and especially countries that have signed schengen agreement.
Quarantines to stop the spread and get situation back under control. Keep being smart(appropriate social distancing still in effect) after quarantines end and don't hug strangers at grocery store. Heavy use of tests to find out new people with disease, backtrace contacts and quarantine. Possibly travel limitations/quick tests/quarantines at ports of entry. Basically try to stop new spread before it manages to get out of hand again.
Use antibody tests to figure out more details about covid19 and finetune strategy.
I don't think there is good way out of this. It's just varying degrees of mitigation and learning as we go.
Trump is everywhere 'cos imho it is like a dictatorship. I mean, he was democratically elected but he can do everything afterwards.Force all news channels and social media outlets to stop carrying everything Trump says. Force everyone to stop listening to what Trump says. Force them to stop bitching about "muh freedumbs". Force them to stop thinking. Force them to follow the medical professionals' advice.
The US is like Europe, every state is doing their own thing. It's only when a state is getting hit hard that they then go "OMFG, I guess it's not a hoax and it's more than just the flu like Trump/Fox said multiple times earlier" and start to implement what other states have already put in place.
I agree, but I won't like. A few sad martyrs will make the difference, especially as Johnson went from mild for 10 days, to serious. But that's the second-wave issue we've been hearing about.sadly, until we get some high profile deaths, people will think they are invincible.
trouble breathing can swirl out of control quickly. Prolonged periods of lack of oxygen cause all sorts of issues for all your organs. They stop functioning well, they get overworked etc, then once one organ starts to crash the next one and the next one, and they all start crashing the whole system down. It can happen rapidly from no ventilator to ventilator to death in a rapid amount of time.I agree, but I won't like.
