Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) (SARS-CoV-2) [2020]

How is this opposing the claim "people who choose to not get vaccinated increase the risk for everyone"?
It opposes the claim that only the unvaccinated increase the risk for everyone.
It also ignores the fact that the unvaccinated depending on where you are, are required to get rapid tests frequently for a temporary safe pass, or dont carry any safe pass to go any where they please whereas the vaccinated do.

Entire Texas town essentially closes due to Covid-19 cases

Zapata reflected on that moment in an interview with CNN, describing it as a cry for mercy given the great pain and suffering in her small, west Texas oilfield town of Iraan -- population about 1,200.

"We had had Covid before but never to this magnitude," she said.

It seemed that just about everyone in Iraan knew someone who was fighting Covid-19. During a two-week span this month, 119 people were tested for the virus and 50 tested positive, according to Iraan General Hospital CEO Jason Rybolt. That's a 42% positivity rate.

While the town is small, it could be seen as a microcosm of what might take place statewide as the number of Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations remain high and as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott continues to fight against mask mandates.

Last week, the school district shut down after only five days of classes because about a quarter of the staff and 16% of the students got infected or were exposed to Covid-19, according to Iraan-Sheffield Independent School District Superintendent Tracy Canter.

"In the last week, we've seen more Covid cases for staff and students than we did the entire year, last year, during school," Canter said.

What isn't stated in the article but clearly visible is that many if not all of the population are not vaccinated nor wear masks. Rather than praying they should have been doing the right thing all along in not catching Covid-19 then spreading it to others.

I disagree due to the fact that many vaccinated whose immune system didnt build enough protection, are roaming around less careful thinking they cant spread the virus or that they wont get ill seriously just because they got the shot.

You are disagreeing with a statement I never made.

However, people who have compromised immune systems are probably still taking precautions because Covid is not their only worry. They always need to be concerned about becoming seriously ill.

They may have similar viral load but a study found that the vaccinated have lower active cultures, meaning a lot of the viral particles are not capable of infecting.

They may have been attacked by antibodies.

The study is referring to a median. Those whose bodies didnt built enough or almost any protection may still be in danger and a danger to others.
Also you still dont want to risk others who, due to special health problems, cant get vaccinated and belong in risk population.

South Dakota COVID cases explode after Sturgis motorcycle rally | Salon.com

The annual biker rally usually draws as many as 500,00 people, but in the era of COVID, things were smaller. In 2020, the event was such a massive superspreader that 5 million cases could be traced back to the rally.

But that was when COVID wasn't the delta variant, which experts believe is more easily transmissible. In 2020, Harley Davidson refused to even send staff to the event out of fear for their safety.

One Sturgis 2021 attendee explained that there was no way he'd get the vaccine because it would "make you sterile and kill your ass," both false claims. While he relayed the story he broke into a coughing fit.

T-shirts were available reading, "Screw COVID — I went to Sturgis."

"Asia" seems like they're not doing so hot, but isn't that a whole bunch of country's averages? I'm curious who the biggest culprits are by country, because I'm starting to break it down by state in the US since it is so night and day between so many of them. Curious if it's the same for countries.

Africa and Latin America seem really low given low vaccinations.

Brazil, Colombia, Argentina were on fire a couple of months ago. They’re also spawning a lot of variants down there including lambda, which may be supplanting the Brazilian variants.

Yeah they have to enforce public health measures but they want to enforce them against 3 starters for the match?

Was this about public health or football?

It seems those 3 in particular had been in the UK in the last 14 days, thus they were required to quarantine.

it was all about setting an example, of course the odds of them transmitting to someone else on the pitch outside is near zero (the changing rooms etc on the other hand, yes its possible , which is precisely where they went after they got taken off the pitch )

Unbelievable, One of the 10 worse political judgement calls I've ever seen in decades. What was going through his head to even think this was a good idea, surely he must of known beforehand this is a very bad look. You really have to question his competence to govern, sure its a small thing but if hes fucking up the bleeding obvious stuff like this, whats he doing with the complicated matters of governance
 I wouldnt be surprised if this costs him his job
