"Computer graphics will always require the very latest computer technology". In my assignment I have to discuss the truth or otherwise of the above statement. I have to consider the following: PCs and workstations, CPU architecture, memory technology and graphics applications and examples. Do you know where I can find some information to help me answer this assignment question and/or could you provide me with some?

Well obviously its false, how can anything "always" be so, unless you're dealing with a God-like being? Then again, if we remove always from being time-specific(id est; we view from outside of time), then any state of existence can "always" be so, if it ever was or will be. :D

What is Moore's Law? Hopefully I win the Daily Double. ;)

(For those outside the U.S. or live in a cave, I'm doing a parody of Jeopardy.)

Well, you have to define what you mean by Computer Graphics. I mean Computer graphics has been around for a long time already.

So, no it wouldn't require the latest in technology. An old Atari, can do computer graphics.

the statement on the whole is pretty weakly put.. even if one were to add a more specific term than, "computer graphics" you'd still be falling into it being relative rather than definite..

ie - "'top quality' graphics will require the very latest computer technology"

without delving too deeply into the above grammar, I think it's a given to say that yes - 'peak'(for the given time period) graphics will 'always' require 'peak' technology until the point is reached where less-than-peak technology is capable of delivering life-like graphics where the human eye can no longer see any benefit of further complexity..
