so, what you recomend? the bearings are totally gone from the original one.
how about the fan connector?
does the card boot if nothing is plugged on it?

My pci-e worked without a fan plugged into it.

I guess the vf700 or 900 is the easiest replacement for your current heatsink

iirc, the "Accelero" line by Arctic Cooling is crap, but their previous generation of coolers was effective and cheaper than Zalman, too. unfortunately, the compatibility listing seems to have a big gap around AGP 6600's. NV1R2 seems like a safeish bet but you'll have to ask around and find whether it'll fit, or buy it retail somewhere you could return it...

bah, i'd go with Zalman anyway. just put a desk fan pointed at your GPU until the vf700gets there ;;;D

ediT: check that, in the reviews of this Vantec the ppl are tqalking about fitting it to a 6600gt agp!

I need to check that one (vantec) it seems to be quite ok, although I am not sure if the HSI chip gets proper cooling. (perhaps it would be good idea to buy some heatsink for it...)

In any case I'll take look of it. thanks. :)

Nappe1, let us know how you get on with it. I also have a 6600GT AGP that needs the cooler replaced (Can't run it over 300MHz without a lockup currently).

If that cooler works for you I will get one as well.
