Cell shading on next generation hardware?

Recreating in 3D the look of most Anime is just hard, considering they're trying to simulate in 3D something that looks the way it does because it's 2D. The polygon counts will have to increase a lot to hide all the imperfections we have in 3D graphics compared to Anime.

I guess you can never have enough polys. The Wind Waker's real success is in animation (during cutscenes). Most anime looks very static (by design of course).

If it wasnt for the jagged lines couldnt tell Link is in 3D
 
It all depends on animation, effects and framerate really. I am very interested in seeing a cell-shaded like game that is on par with anime movies and techniques. :)

I expect great things from games like ZOE3. ;)
