Can anyone recommend a nice text editor?

    I still use vi. It was a bitch to learn back then, but I've never ran across a Unix or Linux machine without my trusty vi installed.

    Is this for programming/scripting, writeing documents or both?

    In windows I use OpenOffice for writeing documents and JEdit (has lots of plugins) for scripting/programming languages that don't have a deceant IDE.

    Oh and wordpad :lol:

    I've been using EditPad Pro and been quite happy with it.
