Call of Duty: Ghost (Consoles)

They didn't have the hardware back then. All 3rd party devs were basing builds off of devkits to spec. Infact even one of the big 1st party published titles was: there are numerous interviews:

- Cryteks Cevat (CEO) said that Ryse builds at E3 were based off of devkits and that the game on the demo floor were on devkits. Different builds, Marius is 85k and not 150k anymore.
- In this GT interview Peter Moore of EA says "come on jeff you know we have no final hardware, everyone is running off PCs to spec and dev kits."

On the PS4 side:
Compared to the reveal Jimmy Kimmels nationally broadcasted LateShow feb2013 hands on playthrough of Killzone PS4 has a bit of a downgrade for Killzone opening gameplay sequence as well. Tidbits of new footage and screenshots have come out, where there are fewer particle effects and the civilian density on the tower top was decreased. Enemy model detail is lower polygon also. They dont know exactly what the hardware will do, they just have to optimistically approximate.
Here is Kimmels playthough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGlu3e9kdks

Id just find it odd that this game would be running at 720p on the one. Doesnt make much semse at all

I don't follow the console forums that much so please forgive me if this is a dumb question, but why does 720p sound so odd for the XBox 1? Not even the AMD HD7790 is much good for 1080p and it is a fair bit faster than the XBox 1 GPU. At least, I don't expect the HD7790 to stick CoD: Ghosts at 1080p 60Hz with high settings and AA.

Now, I can see the PS4 stretching for 1080p but that GPU is about on the level of the HD7850 - a faster card that can get you into 1080p territory on modern games.

But the shaders look a lot better now...
.

The point I'm trying to make is 3rd party devs and even Crytek didn't have hands on with the hardware. You didn't dismiss the 4 other points I was making. Everyone following the production side of the consoles knows the devs didn't have access to actual hardware back at or around the time of e3.

I'm not saying the rumors are true, I'm just saying that 1080p statement was made during when they were using pcs to approximate the hardware performance.

Depends on if the shaders are better or equal at the lower resolution...

If it's better I'd take the lower resolution over the higher one.

This may be good news then actually.

1080p = 2.25 x 720p

The shader quality could be 2.25x better on the Xbone version.

Oh yeah, 720p + high settings and image quality over 1080p with IQ sacrifices any day. Just look at how fantastic Planet Earth looks even on a 50" 720 television. Good AA is key though, and that means more than post process filtering.

Well there is no way a XONE version is going to be identical unless forced parity.

But this unconfirmed huge resolution difference must come from memory architechture issues also that werent solved for launch

And just when sanity had started to return to the thread......

There can be 101 reasons why games may look alike or have parity, and forced parity is only one of them.

Albert Penello tweeted, "I've seen COD: Ghosts running on Xbox One. It looks f'n amazing. Wait for real footage, then judge for yourself.".

Does Planet Earth have good AA? HD film and a digital game have very little in common..

I would be surprised if Xbox One's Call of Duty Ghost is running at 720p!I just can't see it and believe it!Plus that wiki has recently been edited!

Well he danced around that question without answering it. Instead of using clever wording to avoid having to confuse consumers, why doesn't he just say "yes its native 1080p" or "yes its a Full HD XP" like Cryteks Cevat did for Ryse instead of confusing consumers.

#Ryse there is not one single downgrade compared to E3, promised! Only UPGRADES in the final push towards finalling phase! Its FULL HD XP!

yes, if it's better shader quality then I'll take that over 1080p

if it's like ryse where things were upgraded then nice

If the COD engine isn't running as well on the XB1 as on the PS4, there are many things the team can do to maintain 60 fps. The team could make it 900p and have fewer effects than the PS4. We already see Ryse look great at 900p so the XB1 is capable. But having one version be 1080p and another 720p would be some of the worst trade-off decisions the team can make.

I I'm not sold on this rumor, and I'm not sold on Cboats last post! The last statement I heard from about Call of Duty Ghost was it was 1080p on both systems!I thought at the reveal they broadcast on Xbox Live they stated that!?
