They're announcing something.....

They have at least 2 exclusives for 360, one is the sequel to Jade empire and the other one is a new IP. Bioware has also licensed the UE3 engine, so whatever they will show, will have the potential to look really good..

Apparently it was confirmed some time ago by a Bioware employee on IGN's boards that it's a Sci-Fi RPG (using the UE3 engine, as is to be expected). Some people have been thinking that it's linked to a trademark, "Star Citadel", that Bioware registered in 04, but they abandoned it this year, so the name is likely different..

The Star Wars geek in me would rather see a KOTOR III then a Jade Empire 2. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, considering Jade Empire was better than KOTOR1 and the second half of KOTOR2 was a total hackjob, I'm looking forward to JE2. And, I'd only like to see KOTOR3 if you can be Revan again. Revan--what a hunk.

It would be cool if they showed something, no doubt, but I will not keep my hopes up, I guess it will just be an announcement or something...

Meh... I strongly disagree. JE was more like an action game to me, very much an RPG-lite. KOTOR1 was a masterpiece, KOTOR2 was a bug-ridden and lazy POS.

So I'd like KOTOR3 set in the universe, using hot graphics, and unrelated to KOTOR2 entirely.

I haven't played KOTOR2 and JE but the first KOTOR is pure masterpiece so I would really like to see them making a number 3. However, I thought the Bioware will from now on be making games that are their own IP...

KOTOR2 was not done by Bioware and Bioware will never do another KOTOR.
Do you not love it when a company takes a franchise--a floundering IP--and makes it PURE GAMING GOLD...

And then... the IP holder cashes in on greener pastures and some low class developer recycles the pure gold until it is nothing more than cheap aluminum.

KOTOR is no different than 007.

When Rare did the 007 GoldenEye game, Movie IPs stunk in the market. REALLY poor games 95% of the times, and I am not sure one was every "great".

Enter Rare. GoldenEye perfection ensues.

Result? EA gets the rights to the IP.

And the rest is sadly poor gaming history.

I could be wrong (on the business end), but you would *think* sticking with high class dev teams who church out AAA content would add value to the longevity to the franchise. Sure, they may make less per release; but if the games are making their name breand BETTER and have good rep among a HUGE demographic, you basically can milk the thing for decades!

Hmmm I guess people keep paying big $ for Star Wars licenses no matter what... so I must be wrong.

R.I.P. KOTOR.

I actually I applied to work for bioware before, and they didn't really accept me into their beloved corporate arms. Sadly, this didn't really do anything to curconvent them from completely stealing my code, releasing it in their games, and making millions of dollars of me. but then who really gives a fuck about the programmers who makes the actual code, when we can all run out and buy their new games, which are totally rad, I'm sure their new games will be totally great and I know you will all buy them. don't be afraid to spit in my face and many other game makers that love making fun games, because stealing is fun, as long as you give microsoft $500 as a price of admittion and $75 for all the thieves who like to fuck over real workers for laughs. haha. good times, everyone buy 360. its so much fun. haha.

I thought "Hello World" was under GPL?

and I thought bioware stole code for a 'game' ... oops. no actual games there, only in paying employees.
Unless you have public proof of your accussation I would suggest shutting up. Anyone on the net can say anything bad about another, so unless you have facts to back up your claim I would suggest leaving such comments to yourself.

The red square next to your name indicates your posts are inflammitory and found to be without merit in general. If you would like to stay around I would suggest a more constructive approach to posting.

Thanks.

Take it to court then.

'Take it to court' would need lots of money for legal fees, plus irrefutable proof that the code is yours and they nicked it. Though I can't vouch for lip2lip, people stealing ideas does happen and there's sod all anyone can really do to elliminate it.
