Why should a normal american ever want to buy a Peugeot?

When I think about it, why should anyone want to buy one?

Because when a French woman says the name, it sounds dirty, thrillingly dirty? :devilish: :devilish:

Mize, baby, if you want some TRUE Respekt! Lemme suggest:

Ford F-350
Turbo Diesel
4-Wheel Drive
Extend Cab
Leather interior w/ heated seats
6' Cargo Bed

Seeing more and more exec's driving these beasts lately.
Its more than an SUV its a land Yacht.

Only if the toss in the gun rack!
Actually my Chinese name can be translated as "loves trucks" LOL!

I'd rather take a used Daimler or BMW than any of these cars fully loaded and all.

Company policy is no used cars. Buy cash, 5-year depreciation schedule with 4 year usage.

You could look into the Volvo S60 2.4T AWD.

Not the most sprty of options, but you do get most of your requirements (AWD, folding rear seats, 4DR, <$35K, Nav system). I'm not sure about bluetooth. It will also likely have the least 'foreign car' stigma.

Plus, you can always say that Volvo is now owned by Ford (for that matter, Saab is now GM).

the TL is a sweet deal but no ...bluetooth.
It has bluetooth.
WHAT IN THE HELL DO YOU NEED BLUETOOTH FOR ON A CAR, FOR CLIFF'S SAKE?!?!?!

Sorry, sorry...I just don't get it. :?

It allows hands-free cell phone usage through your stereo and built-in microphone in the review mirror without having to install some "hands-free kit" or where an earpiece. Very nice feature as I can drive 5-8 hours and be on the phone constantly. You get into your car and incoming calls to the cell phone in your jacket pocket automatically come in "hands free" unless you pick up your cell phone.

People almost stopped buying Volvo here since it's been owned by Ford. Talk about a HUGE downgrade. There's only one car crappier than european* Fords, which would be Fiat. Volvo was one of the best cars prior to that. They are still much better than a regular Ford - those poor swedish engineers are doing as much as they can for the crappy Mondeo platform they're forced to work with.

* note "european", I don't know how good/bad US Ford models are, these are not even related except for the name AFAIK

I have a twin card in my car phone. As soon as the ignition is on, it's switched on and automattically takes the calls first. Using it through 3 buttons on my steering wheel and it all goes through the stereo (with mute and all). Mic integrated into the cockpit somewhere, don't even know where.

No bluetooth, all wired. All you need is a twin-card for your second mobile phone which permanently sits in its cradle (wherever you prefer to install it) and that's it.

Very few US cars have this wired in as they do in Europe & Asia. Part of the reason is the US was predominantly CDMA/TDMA until recently so there were no cards at all on most networks. Bluetooth is nicer in that it (should) work with any phone/carrier/plan. My agent in Taiwan has a 500 series BMW with a twin phone that craps out constantly (motorola) and he HATES it..well, except when it works.

my phone is almost as long as my **** and is certainly wider than it... it's a dual-mode that can operate with or without the card so that I get coverage most anywhere :D

I just don't see the lack of blue-poo should be a reason for not buying a otherwise potentially better car, that's all.

Oh I'll still drive them all, but the car with the missing bluetooth is the G35 which has another big flaw: no folding seats. It's pretty key that I be able to transport up to 5x 36-42" long sensors in boxes that are probably about 8x8x48 inches. No can do with a "pass through" in the back seat. If it were wide enough (10"?) I could take one or two maybe...or arrange them upright in the back seat...I'll give it a shot.

Wireless hands free is pretty slick though.

you should get a....

IIRC the Tribeca is due out in May. It may be worth a look.
For some reason this really excited me, my first car purchase might be this one. Later this year ill have to make up my mind on what to get. Currently leaning towards lexus 400h.
