Holy shit. That's fucking incredible. Now I'm seriously intrigued about the SP.

They're going to outCOD, COD.

Honestly, there's no competition. The games are apples and oranges, and while it's obvious what my stance is, my money will be supporting/lining the pockets of DICE, there are lots of people who prefer the formula of CoD over BF. And that's fine in my book. While I've been a dedicated Battlefield enthusiast since it's induction, I don't have a problem with games like CoD merely because it's BF's competition. This whole war between CoD and BF seems silly. I can't watch a single BF trailer without someone comparing it to CoD or making a reference. People should just play what they love, and try not to interfere with the agenda of others.

Amazonians! preload is up and moving fast. Grab it.

So how does this work? I'm doing the preload from amazon but it'll automatically link to Origin client on the PC?

Edit: Amazon download the 10.1GB on the desktop, you hit install which opens up Origin, you input your key from amazon site and it does the install locally. Works smooth!

Meanwhile the Origin client refuses to connect at all :devilish:

edit: Okay it just needed a kick in the butt to start working (restart)

EA have made a great move tying Origin with BF3. The client looks like a digital Santa Claus right now and it's orange and grey interface is sitting there while the endorphins are clattering around in my head. I can almost hear the sleigh bells as I watch the progress bar creeping up. :O)

Okay. The email I got (which is in German, thanks EA), tells me
Erscheinungstermin: 26. Oktober 2011

Erscheinungstermin means release date as far as google can tell.

A friend in the UK says his email states the 27th as the release date. I wonder if they're staggering the release throughout europe?

I got a feeling this SP shouldn't actually be in a game called Battlefield 3, but it looks very interesting. It may, as neliz said, out-CoD CoD.

CoD has always had a tight SP campaign, but (for me) very lacklustre MP. BF has basically been the reverse, so this is major.

Yup. The Return to Karkand DLC includes Wake Island, Karkand, Sharqi Peninsula and Gulf of Oman.

Plus you get a flash suppressor, the DAO-12 shotgun, Type 88 LGM and flechette ammunition.

Seriously, homer. Pre-order. All that is available one month before non pre-orders.

You forgot the king of all kick ass SMG's:

PP19 Bizon.

email is worthless, I only believe the Release Date Check ;)

Yep, the release date check is the same for me, 01:00 on the 27th. Wonder what happened with some regions getting different dates in the emails. What a tease!

Seems the day 1 patch is included with the preload. It also has Commo Rose included so no waiting for that to appear. I do find it strange that fans had to make a lot of noise to get it. Seems DICE were a bit out of touch not including it in their core design. Was it just that they ran out of buttons on the gamepads?

F*ck me that looked good! To many amazing games around at the moment and not enough time to play them all. If only I didn't have to work! But then I wouldn't be able to afford the games :(

Looks like a cross between a pistol and a shotgun.

No, no no. The Bizon uses a helical magazine instead of the standard stick mags. The bullets wrap around the interior of that detachable drum like a spiral, thus greatly increasing its capacity.

Bizon's can carry 64 rounds of 9x18 Makarov or 53 of 9x19 parabellum (what most people use).

If anybody here has played Killzone 2 or 3, the Helghast SMG is derived from the Russian pp19 Bizon.
