Battlefield 3 announced

I'm thinking most people here are afraid of "going COD" means more simplicity. And devs adding "more depth" is just the amount of unlocks and customization.

I suggest everyone to take a look at battlefield online (play4free variant) to see what is possible with a dumbed down (no squads, but assault has a squad leader like unlock) yet expanded BF2 would look like.

That was my gut reaction too, but the first clients were very. ehr ... minimalistic.

The team keeps expanding the game and functionality and I'm thoroughly enjoying playing at the moment and as I've already seen what the game can do when "finished" (we ran tournaments with it here in Taiwan) it certainly has some appeal to lure some COD crowd into the gameplay that is battlefield.

Looks amazing though short clips but it's supposed to be all ingame visuals accroding to devs IIRC. Then thinking about their destruction engine it all even more impressive.

I hope so, as I was so incredibly disappointed that prone was removed from Crysis 2 to accomodate console players.

Only PC version will have prone. Prone was removed in Bad Company 2.
