Is it just me, or does this blow all of the competition away?

Have we seen anything else that even comes close to the stuff Battlefield 3 is pushing?

    Dem animations.. DAT graphics!

Also looks like nice OBM is in. Their legs when running is one pointer.

Looks incredible! I'll withhold judgement on whether its a Crysis 2 beater until I've played the single player though. Seems at least on a par with Crysis 2 multiplayer though.

D11 only - LOVE IT! Now if only every other developer would follow this extremely sensible lead. It's not like it's stopping them developing the game on the 360 and PS3.

Why the hell would Crytek support DX9 at all? I see almost no logic in it.

We discussed that at length in the Crysis 2 thread starting around page 25. In short, supporting DX9 makes no sense at all.

I want BF3 so much. What I didn't like in that otherwise awesome trailer was the way they masked profanity in the script. A loud noise instead of letting us hear the word fuck? Are you fucking kidding me? Also, they missed a fuck at the end of the trailer.

Although it was masked, albeit poorly, I highly doubt they'll censor the final build. I noticed the few in the end that slipped, also.

Anyone else notice the authenticity of the models? Everything from sunglasses dangling from a goggle's strap, to mag pulls adorning magazines. This is like the first time I saw "Saving Private Ryan" and the gritty authentic feeling of war struck me.

This actually looks really good. Hopefully it will be released on Steam.

This kind of blind sided me, especially considering how busy DICE has been. Between MoH online, BFBC2 (Vietnam, DLC etc), and then they throw this at us.

I dunno, I really didn't think Crysis 2 would have any contenders for the PC crown.. But this. This is a game changer.

Dunno crysis still looks pretty damn good and runs smoooooooth as hell. Besides pretty gfx i hope they will fix somehow SP and MP to be more funny to play. I dont wanna buy this game just to have pretty benchmark after all.

I wonder if those barely visible civilian bystanders on the first 3 pics are shootable in game.

I'm not sure why that tweet means it is necessarily less technical. Granted I'm not expecting it to match BF3 in new tech, but that tweet the article references doesn't have anything to do with that.

Updating the existing engine (ala Epic with the updated Unreal Engine they just showcased or Bungie with their Halo: Reach engine) doesn't preclude including state of the art features if that was a direction they wanted to go.

    Regards,
    SB
