Is the PCB info reliable? What if the PCB info is just fake news?
It can be, but I have my doubts for few reasons.
1. Date of posting - May was looked by everyone as too soon for dev kit SOC to be in QA, therefore soon to be delivered. Turns out devs got V dev kits from Sony in June/July, and dev kits going from manufacturing lines by the end of May soubd very plausible all of the sudden.
2. Very unorthodox leak, which could be done only by someone in manufacturing.
This leak misses big hitters such as TF, annoucement dates, launch titles etc. which pretty much all fake leaks have.
Instead you get info on what is on PCB + SOC dimensions. On first look, not the most interesting leak,b for those who know what to look for - very interesting.
3. It specifies 256bit bus and 16GB of GDDR6 using Samsung 18Gbips chips (not in full prod yet). Very smart if fake because, while 256 bit bus is relatively narrow, these chips are hell a fast and could deliver more then adequat BW even on that bus.
4. RAM arrangement and speed matches Flute benchmark leak, that was removed after few hours being online. Any other spec of RAM (16Gbps, 14Gbps etc.) would result in overall BW being less then 512GB/s. Flute had 528GB/s, pointing at either overclocked 16Gbps chips or downclocked 18Gbps.
So IMO alot of right things and seemingly "uninteresting" info that says alot. Oh and guy had Reddit Avatar consisting of random PCB switch. He deleted his acc day after...
I mean it would not surprise me if that leak was not true, but it consists of very interesting info later confirmed by Flute benchmark as well as date of V dev kits being sent out.
