Australian DS launch, most successful launch ever?

What the hell was that about? How am I bragging and what does this have to do with PSP? I'm just comparing one DS game to another and listing a couple of reasons why I think one looks better then the other. Is that suddenly wrong in your opinion just because DS isn't the best looking handheld out there? Honestly sometimes I just have to sit back in awe at some of the responses on this forum..

I haven't seen the video (too short for me to bother) but let's be fair. All he was saying was that this game potentially could look a lot better than RR-DS, which wouldn't surprise me since this is not a launch title and therefore could have been optimized some. He never even mentioned the PSP or that the DS could ever look as good as the PSP (we all know it will never will). So let's cut him some slack ok? Teasy is pro-nintendo (which is totally cool) but NOT anti-sony, so let's not confuse him for some of the other posters. :)

Ty

Yeah I really don't understand where his response came from.

BTW the game footage is really short, just over 3 seconds. Even with that the difference is quite apparent. Although I own Asphalt and play it quite a lot, so that probably helps me judge easier.

Aye carumba. Let's not make the situation worse, people. London-boy is one of the more normal people here. That should scare us all, btw. ;)

Nobody is ignoring the Swedish market? Please show me a person outside of Sweden who gives a damn about it.

Um, on second thought, I've changed my opinion to match yours. So has Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Apple, IBM, Ford, Mercedes, Colgate Palmolive, Nestlé, Pfizer, etc etc, and they've all decided to close up shop over here and stop selling all their products to us. Nobody cares about us, this country's just too small.

No wait, I changed my mind. Following the devastating defeat in Swedish market, Toyota has announced that they have no alternative but to fully liquidate the corporatation. Said CEO: "Sweden in the key to everything. Once we lost the all important Swedish market share lead, we knew the jig was up and our existence has come to an end".

No one is going to ignore any market they can make money in, but market share is places like Sweden has (all together now) very little global relevance. New York city is a more important market then Sweden is.

wow, nfsu looks like it might be the best looking game i've seen on DS yet.

Come on Teasy, DS is amazing for many reasons, but graphics, NO.
why can't the DS be amazing for graphics? knowing the specs of the ds, relative to say a ps1 or n64, i find what they are accomplishing on the DS to be nothing short of amazing. i for one can't wait to see what nintendo has in store to combat the coming "PSP threat" stateside. i know my local games shops are starting to get DS's back already in anticipation (i would never trade in a system this soon, but to each their own).

back (sorta) on topic, australia is impotant for several reasons, some that have little to do with market share and more to do with market research. several companies with buisnesses tied to technology use australia as a test market because it is pretty isolated from the rest of the world (lower risk of "test" items to be exported) and it has a solid technology/comunications backbone. for example, adobe used australia to test product activation with photoshop in australia with photoshop7 (windows) before rolling it out globaly with photoshop cs.

Finally, some Aussie DS launch numbers:

19,191 units

Surprisingly, after it’s first week on sale the DS has broken all current Australian launch sales records* for fastest selling console.
