AMD: Navi Speculation, Rumours and Discussion [2019-2020]

Not going to say the leaks are correct, but even if AFOX isn't official board partner, they do make both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards, including latest generation for NVIDIA (they have much more comprehensive NVIDIA catalog compared to AMD catalog, newest AMD card they have listed is RX 570/580)
As for EEC, it seems to be hit and miss, they have on several occasions listed real products that end up being released later, but then there has been also cases where they've listed things like GTX 1180 or was it RTX 1180 etc.

I just hope "Big Navi" comes courtesy of RDNA2. If not I have this horrible vision of AMD uncovering their 2080 killer to the hoops and cries of long waiting fans, only for nVidia to release their RTX 3080 moments later and steal AMD's glory. To an offended cacophony of shrieks wailing "It's Vega all over again, It's Vega all over again!".
RTX 2080Ti is over 15 months old now. AMD is likely to launch their highend Navi card in Q2/Q3 on TSMC 7+nm. This card *really* shouldn't target a 2 years old competition in order to "kill it".
Anyway, building the chip on 7+nm has already predetermined its competitor - "RTX 3000" series.

They have gone on record and denied posting these latest RX model numbers, they even tried taking them down.

Lisa reiterated again that Big Navi will be launched in 2020 in their Youtube channel in the Bring Up show.
I won't be surprised if Navi20 or Big Navi get announced together with Zen3 to piggy back on comparatively better Ryzen competitiveness and brand resurgence. Simlar to Ryzen 3K/RX5700XT launch at Computex.

Well, RDNA 2 has been shown as a 2020 product on their roadmap for a while now. Considering Lisa Su mentioned that big Navi and RT are coming this year, it's likely that it'll be RDNA 2.

Good to see her at least being confident enough that it'll come out this year that she's basically gone on record with it.

SB

What Navi 21 will be able to defeat will depend on a) how much of an improvement in perf/watt RDNA2 will be over RDNA1 and b) how much of an improvement in perf/watt Ampere will be over Turing. The rest won't matter much albeit there will likely be some interesting RT performance and features comparisons.

Ampere should offer 50 % higher performance at 50 % lower power consuption compared to Turing(?), so 3× better power / performance ratio. According to some rumors RDNA2 at 7nm+ (EUV) should offer 2× better power / performance ratio compared to RX 5000. That means 300W RDNA2 part should have similar performance to 200W Ampere. So „big Navi“ should be comparable to GeForce RTX 3080 (just like big Vega was comparable to GeForce GTX 1080).

You seriously consider that +50/-50% rumor to have any credibility behind it?

7nm process by itself should reduce power consumption at least by 50 %. They spent really long time (and a lot of resourcers) on Ampere development. Isn't it logical to expect significant improvements on architectural side?
