I dont if it is technically possible or if it is interresting but here is my sugestion:
Why not have an "All forums" forum ?
It could contain all threads from all forums.
Between the "Topics" colum and the "replies" could be a "forum" column.
The advantage is visiting a single forum and see all new posts. It will enhance the trafic because people will see posts/comments in forums that they usually dont visit so often. My guess the number of posts in the gametalk and others will increase a lot.
People that want to visit the individuals forums will still do it. It will be an user decision.
edited: The user should not be able to post in the all fourms forum. When trying to do that he/she should be asked to choose one specific forum from a list.
