I absolutely love that DOF! It makes it look so next gen, you could never have that kind of HQ blur last gen. It really sets the tone along with the spectacular lighting. I wonder if it was PS4 footage, cause i did see some aliasing...either way, looks great!

An independent flashlight aim would have been neat (toggle or make use of touch pad device/head tracking + reset to center). *shrug* :) Not like you're aiming a gun, right? ;)
Dunno, could also just be needlessly complicated.

^ we dont know if any of the characther showcase photos are "ingame" or just renders.

You can see them all on Gamersyde.

The assets do look like they can be ingame, especially considering how few of them have to be displayed at any time.

Well the DS4 motion control could be used and there would be no need to press a button to toggle it on/off
With Kinect 2.0 they could do what with eye tracking or head tracking as well as you say.

Yes given the fact the environments are highly confined and small and not many characters running around at any given time...that level of quality "should" be achievable with the new consoles.

I don't really see what's so special about the assets. You can still make out polygonal edges here and there. Any reasonably potent machine should be capable of pushing enough polygons to render a realistic box of crayons and a toy robot. There really isn't much going on in these screens otherwise. Even in terms of environments only.
If anything the renderer is the impressive part here.

Yup, and dont forget we'll be going through an incremental series of, often unexpected, jaw droppers with new hardware. Not saying this game will be one for sure, but they should be coming.

Umm, why shoulden't this level of detail be possible on PS4 and Xbox 1? Lest we forget, The Order is coming out later this year? Granted..we still need direct gameplay...but the trailer was in engine and rendered on the PS4 using actual game assets. So why would this game fail to work on the consoles when its much more corridor like? Even Ryse and Killzone have better rendering of models than this game. I consider this something that's probably "run of the mill" quality in a few years.

Welcome to next gen folks! :D

I want Amanda Ripley to be sexualized! If she is dont get "clothes" from MGS5 Quiet and Pulse Rifle, I'm not playing this game!!!

Kudos to CA for making very subdued designs of charachters. :D

Well, Ellen Ripley certainly did strip down to her underwear in the original Alien. That scene was both tense and sexy. Too bad this new wave of puritanism is so annoyingly widespread now that you can barely get away with an exposed midriff at this point. (even if it did make sense)

I don't know if it's just me, but this game looks curiously Render-Manish. I wonder what it is really, but the looks of surfaces and their shading or lighting feel very similar to Toy Story in some way, but I can't put my finger on exactly why.

It's really neat that someone finally realised that there's more than one Alien movie. I wish those guys all the best. Take a big ass budget and essentially make a AAA indie game because your brand will take care of sales anyway - now that is exactly what movie licenses should be used for.
