Accurate Human Rendering in Game [2019-2021]

Mate check out what some of the worlds military actually wears
Poor form to mix doctored images in with real ones as then you don't know what's what and even if there's a serious point to your post.

The other two are legit and not exaggerated.

The Witcher 4 character concepts in UE5 (MetaHumans) via wccftech (text copied from article below).
I agree that Geralt looks a little off, but the remaining three characters look superb, especially considering current limitations in MH.

'The next entry in The Witcher series is going to be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and fans of the franchise are expecting the game to look amazing.
A new video created by CG Adventures imagines how characters from the franchise like Geralt of Rivia, and Yennefer of Vengeberg and others will look in the next entry in the series. Using MetaHuman alongside Unreal Engine 5, the developer had to deal with limited hairstyles, eyebrows, and eye color options, so some of the characters do look a little off, especially Geralt, but it is undeniable that the facial expressions featured in the video are quite impressive.'

Yeah those look like deliberately manually sculpted with some stylisation by the artists.

No updates on here for nearly 6 months - surprised at that. Would have thought accurate Human rendering would be a big thing to be honest, especially once we cross the valley - surely that's gonna be a huge thing. Really surprised its not getting as much attention as AI or RT, or perhaps it is but just not in the public domain at present?

We'd need some actual current gen games to move the thread on a bit. ;)

I did have the thought that maybe something from tonight's Suicide Squad State of Play. It's already too stylised to be 'accurate' though, even if the art's up to Rocksteady's usual standards.

Have there been any advances? Big news this gen is UE5, which is all about the lighting and scenery. In game avatars haven't progressed in rendering.

There's definitely scope to use existing techniques, like strand based hair, to a fuller extent. Cross gen spoils everything etc.

when you stand still in game the camera switches to your character closeup then you can move the head in all directions (but not the camera)

But there was an instance in the game where for some reason the head would not move, only the eyeball of the character moved with the analog stick, which showed great facial animation for the movin eye, very nice:
