Try enabling Transparency AA (or Adaptive AA in case of ATI cards) and see if it makes any difference (I didn't check the screenshots, but if they're using alpha textures for fences and such, they're not covered by MSAA)

I checked the 2nd picture.
What you're seeing there is, in my opinion, caused by the sampling pattern used by the AA method, ATI and nVidia use mirrored patterns, one is really good on objects leaning one way, the other is really good on ones leaning the other way. In this case, if that scene was mirrored, the AA quality should be great (as can be seen from rest of the scene), so there's pretty much nothing you can do about it.
