a few new psp pics + post E3 developers comments

Gwym,

It's not an immovable laptop "nipple"... :) It's actually a joystick, if those that have actually touched the thing are to be trusted. Not sure how much it moves though, can't be more than like half a centimeter either way I'd think.

I could have sworn I read that the "nub" is an analogue sensitive pad, like a laptop touchpad.
It is an analog pad, but it's not like a laptop touchpad, more like an analog slider, with a spring that snaps it back into the neutral position if you let your thumb off of it. It actually gives you a mechanical feedback, much like an analog stick does on today's controllers, it's just that it slides, instead of tilting.

I wonder if the pics taken with T1 or T11 can be viewed on PSP.
The T1 uses folders to store the images, and if the PSP does not support that folder structure, I think it won't work.

I've tried viewing the images straight from T1 memstick on SonyEricsson P900 phone which supports jpg images. It was not able to read anything from a T1 formatted memstick Duo.
Neither the videos taken with T1 (which by the way are of amazing quality if you use a faster Pro card) were viewable with P900, but that was expected as the P900 uses some strange format. I think there is some separate media players available for P900, haven't yet tried if they'd work.

That analog slider control disc is quite a nice idea, wonder if it'd work well in PS3 controller. One could imagine that the disc would be more precise than a tilting stick, almost like a mouse or tracball but not quite as precise. Of course we'll have to wait and see how good it is when we get our hands on it.
I wish Sony would release the PSP already, I'd buy it right away. I need a new toy to play with :)

I don't think I'm impressed.
Doesn't look like the initial pictures, looks bigger, wider.
Batteries and price shoud be a big problem
I wonder that since this is Sony, there will be special proprietary batteries that cost 3 or 4 times as any other (like with wireless headphones etc).

How come it can look bigger or smaller since the pictures contains no referentials (hands, others object,...).

In any case, it's the exact same prototype as pictured at E3. Well, actually, the one pictured here is a bit earlier, pre-E3 prototype that has one small difference in design compared to one showcase at E3 - that metal hole on it's edge is a bit different, but that's it.

Hmm, that sucks. Although, P900 is made before T1, right? I hope they keep the compatibility with newer products, like PSP...

Have you tried plugging that stick to one of those TVs that have the slot for it? Or using some 3rd party image viewer on P900?
