3D SsTcEoRpEiOc GAMES A comprehensive list; [PS3,PS4,XO,X360,WU,3DS]

Well, calling out properly implemented 3D games would be useful in this case. ^_^

3D Vision Ready and Excellent would fit that category. A lot of the games classified as Good would pass as well although many of them would need certain rendering effects turned down or off. For example GTA4 works perfectly with shadows turned off but any level above that produces horrible artifacts.

I'm actually hoping that Oculus Rift helps in this regard. As more games add support for it, they're also adding (by default, really) full native 3D support. I just hope they use it.

I think 3D is the future, whether it is passive, active, VR or they invent a technology to see 3D content on your TV without needing glasses.

I find glasses to be totally unobtrusive, I have used them -and contact lenses- since I was 3 years old. That's why I consider it to be the best method nowadays.

In regards to VR the results seem to be amazing. My only gripe about it is that it seems to isolate you from the world, so perhaps someone is calling and you don't hear them, you aren't looking at your surroundings, etc etc.

On a different note, I am going to add Trine 2 to the list of true stereoscopic 3D games for the PS4.

Thanks Arwin for the news:

Interesting... Trine is certainly a looker, and it's fantastic in 3D on PC. Playing it on the big screen would be even better. Might have to look into that.

If you like the regular 3D glasses effects, then you will probably love the dual screen 3D ones (e.g., HMZ-T1 or Occulus Rift). The images are stable (no flickering), crisp, and bright. Be patient and wait a few more years for a refined consumer solution.

What size screens do you have to make your console/tv appear bigger than your PC/monitor? I agree that when it comes to 3D bigger is definitely better but in terms of fov coverage from my regular seating distances I worked out my 27" monitor covers close to 4x the real estate of my 50" TV. I literally don't play anything in 3D on my TV as it feels tiny in comparison.

Ah, like clockwork, Tritosine5G hating on me via PM for liking current dual screen active 3D implementations. ^_^

I should say all current 3D implementations.

It's 60", viewed from about ten feet. It "feels" bigger. Despite the smaller viewing angle, my brain still tells me it's a much bigger screen.

Both of my screens are passive, too. The PC monitor at close range shows some visible artifacting of the interleaved images (curse my brain for knowing what to look for), and the "sweet spot" is much smaller, so there's usually a little bit of ghosting at the top and bottom of the screen. With the TV, I'm far enough away that I can't see the interleaving, and there's zero ghosting anywhere, the sweet spot is huge from that distance.

Anyway, I came here to post THIS.

Sony PS4 FAQ said:
Will PS4 support any 3D content, including stereoscopic 3D games?

Technically, PS4 supports 3D gameplay at launch in North America, though no launch titles are currently 3D compatible.

One of these things is not like the other. I imagine Sony's list is incomplete, since most 3D titles are from third-party or independent developers. Is Resogun considered a first-party title? I still have my hopes up for that one seeing a 3D release.

I thought it was just me, did he tell you people dont have a clue ?

I prefer the HMZ-T1 myself just because it seems to be less bulky and unobtrusive. Still it shares the same problem I have with the Occulus, it feels as it is isolating you from the rest of the world, which is fine at times, but sometimes you lose awareness of what is actually surrounding you.

That's why a more comfortable approach like glasses is still slightly better for me. I am very curious about them though, especially now that John Carmack is actually involved in the future of VR.

News:

Sega are going to bring 3D enabled versions of Ecco the Dolphin and Sonic The Hedgehog to the 3DS.

According to the PS4 faq there will be no 3D games at launch. Which kind of sucks I think....I want PS4 GT6 in 3D goddammit!

:???: Huh? AC IV and CoD: Ghosts are launch titles, aren't they? I pre-ordered them for the Xbox One because I can play them in proper 3D

Yeah. I was surprised to read that. It may well be a mistake on their part. The PSN store pages for both Assassins Creed and Ghosts list 3D.

I'd like to see more 3D support, now the tech is maturing on the TV side. I'd even be happy with half horizontal res (960x1080) per eye, or thereabouts .
Although I'll throw my hat in the 'real 3D' corner. The reprojected 3D in gears of war 3 was utterly, utterly terrible.

I think Trine 2 will be available at least very close to launch, but I haven't seen it listed in many places yet.

I'm also hoping Zen Pinball 2 will get a next-gen release sooner rather than later, especially as that should easily run at 1080p at 60fps in 3D on next-gen and hopefully lagless, which would be great. I just played the new pinball tables in 3D op PS3 last night, and man, the second table has some cool effects, and after Trine 2, probably one of the games that benefits most dramatically from the 3D support.

I would suggest to follow patsu's advice and try to make a distinction in this thread between games with true stereoscopic 3D support and games with 3D support that don't give the same satisfactory results.

But who can blame games alone, when users don't have much experience with 3D? I remember as a gamer I felt ahead of my time when I purchased Avatar : The Game. I loved the box, the art, I was so hyped because of the movie, and it had native 3D support of course.

I thought that I could enable 3D and it would work but my TV was a Samsung LCD TV from 2007 it didn't feature 3D support and when I tried all I could see was weird lines and strangely shaped squares.

Shame on me. I sold the disc a month later because of the disappointment, but I insist the game wasn't bad.

Isn't the the max 3d 60 fps resolution 720p?
