No, just different rendering techniques that cause artifacts when rendered in stereo 3d
like shadows that have the wrong z values
Yup this.

Well, calling out properly implemented 3D games would be useful in this case. ^_^
I think 3D is the future, whether it is passive, active, VR or they invent a technology to see 3D content on your TV without needing glasses.I'm actually hoping that Oculus Rift helps in this regard. As more games add support for it, they're also adding (by default, really) full native 3D support. I just hope they use it.

I find glasses to be totally unobtrusive, I have used them -and contact lenses- since I was 3 years old. That's why I consider it to be the best method nowadays.
Interesting... Trine is certainly a looker, and it's fantastic in 3D on PC. Playing it on the big screen would be even better. Might have to look into that.
It's 60", viewed from about ten feet. It "feels" bigger. Despite the smaller viewing angle, my brain still tells me it's a much bigger screen. What size screens do you have to make your console/tv appear bigger than your PC/monitor? I agree that when it comes to 3D bigger is definitely better but in terms of fov coverage from my regular seating distances I worked out my 27" monitor covers close to 4x the real estate of my 50" TV. I literally don't play anything in 3D on my TV as it feels tiny in comparison.
Sony PS4 FAQ said:Will PS4 support any 3D content, including stereoscopic 3D games?
Technically, PS4 supports 3D gameplay at launch in North America, though no launch titles are currently 3D compatible.
Ah, like clockwork, Tritosine5G hating on me via PM for liking current dual screen active 3D implementations. ^_^
I should say all current 3D implementations.
I prefer the HMZ-T1 myself just because it seems to be less bulky and unobtrusive. Still it shares the same problem I have with the Occulus, it feels as it is isolating you from the rest of the world, which is fine at times, but sometimes you lose awareness of what is actually surrounding you.If you like the regular 3D glasses effects, then you will probably love the dual screen 3D ones (e.g., HMZ-T1 or Occulus Rift). The images are stable (no flickering), crisp, and bright. Be patient and wait a few more years for a refined consumer solution.
Huh? AC IV and CoD: Ghosts are launch titles, aren't they? I pre-ordered them for the Xbox One because I can play them in proper 3DAccording to the PS4 faq there will be no 3D games at launch. Which kind of sucks I think....I want PS4 GT6 in 3D goddammit!

I would suggest to follow patsu's advice and try to make a distinction in this thread between games with true stereoscopic 3D support and games with 3D support that don't give the same satisfactory results.Yeah. I was surprised to read that. It may well be a mistake on their part. The PSN store pages for both Assassins Creed and Ghosts list 3D.
I'd like to see more 3D support, now the tech is maturing on the TV side. I'd even be happy with half horizontal res (960x1080) per eye, or thereabouts .
Although I'll throw my hat in the 'real 3D' corner. The reprojected 3D in gears of war 3 was utterly, utterly terrible.
Isn't the the max 3d 60 fps resolution 720p?I'm also hoping Zen Pinball 2 will get a next-gen release sooner rather than later, especially as that should easily run at 1080p at 60fps in 3D on next-gen and hopefully lagless, which would be great.
I don't mean 60fps per Eye.
