360: VF5 First Look (vid/pics)!

Let's hope this game wont be held back by the lack of HD as well!

On a more serious note, I do hope they will add online multiplayer. Of course, the hardcore VF fans might not like it (frame accuracy blabla), but I think most casual players wont care and will appreciate the ability to play with others.

Do we know the differences between arcade versions ps3 and 360 ported from?
IIRC 360 is being ported from the improved one.

I doubt those screenshots are from 360 version.

Here is another one.

Only the 3 screens at the top are from the 360 version. They are dated May 1st while the others are for Feb 28. Xboxyde is only showing the first 3. Is there something different about the self shadowing in the first 3 or am I imagining things?

I think they are just limiting the appeal of the game by not doing so. Hardcore DOA players know that it is best to play off line and I'm sure hardcore VF players will know the same.

We do know that the game will be receiving some tweaks over the PS3 version, including better anti-aliasing - to make the graphics look smoother
Nice!

and yet there is still much debate in many threads about the 360's AA abilities. ;)

compared to PC the 360 may not be an AA powerhouse but compared to other consoles... it's not too shabby.

...which is obviously not related to a lack of power but to the ability to apply MSAA to HDR render targets which the RSX FP16 mode is not able to (without finding special custom solutions like Heavenly Sword, which none of the launch/1st gen-games seems to have done yet).

On the other hand, launchgames like Resistance easily apply 4xAA (without HDR though). Can't remember many 360 launchgames doing that.

But maybe we should wait what comes out in the end for VF5 ;)

Maybe you should wait for reviews based on the released game before you do a victory dance.

Will the game be in native 1080p also on the 360, or are they targeting 720p with better AA and upscaling to 1080p?

Well its easier to add more detail and effects in a fighting game than a shoot em up with huge worlds and ton of things happening on screen

Its also just as flawed to compare PS3 launch titles to X360 launch titles.

X360 dev kit progress:
Alpha kit: Radeon 9800 + [dont remember one cored cpu]
Beta kit: X800XT + MacPowerbook dual cored CPU <------ what they worked on until September 2005

PS3 dev kit progress:
2004 Alpha kit: 2.0 ghz Cell cpu+ 6800ultra
2005 Beta kit: 2.8 ghz Cell cpu + G70
March 2006: final kit minus bluray

Dont want to go through that discussion. I only pointed out the obvious about the form of games and their limitations. Nothing about hardware capabilitiesor launch games as someone else decided to talk about

I think what you are saying is completely irrelevant. Besides what are we trying to derive from this? That the 360's Aplha kit can handle 4xAA and HDR while the Aplha kit or even the final build of the PS3 cant? (DOA vs Resistance?)

I dont think its wise to bring Aplha kits and stuff into the discussion

No, my point with the devkits was that it makes no sense in comparing launch games, because PS3 devs have had longer time with better \ much more simular hardware than the X360 had.

X360 developers had what? 2-3 months with the Xenos (with no GPU being remotely close to it before) and Xenon before their games launched, and your comparing these titles to PS3 launch games, who had Cell and a G70 derivate for 1.5years before they were launching.

Therefore all launch comparison are largely irrelevant.
