360: VF5 First Look (vid/pics)!

No, my point with the devkits was that it makes no sense in comparing launch games, because PS3 devs have had longer time with better \ much more simular hardware than the X360 had.

X360 developers had what? 2-3 months with the Xenos and Xenon before their games launched, and your comparing these titles to PS3 launch games, who had Cell and a G70 derivate for 1.5years before they were launching.

Therefore all launch comparison are largely irrelevant.
Well its not me who brought the comparison. You should have quoted someone else not me :p
But anyways I agree its irrelevant although I wouldnt present the PS3 development that rosy if it was relevant :p

neither version looked good or nextgen to me. i was rather amazed by how incredible the visuals looked in FNR3 on my ps3. sorry for inputting another fighting game in the disccusion.

hm... those screenshots have a weird blur to them, like they were upscaled with some filter (such as Lanczos or something).

just was going to say that.. looks blurred out. i remember VF5 on my ps3 trough hdmi much sharper

For me its probably one of the best looking next gen games out there. I was totally amazed by the framerate, detail, lighting, art....well.....quite everything!

I just couldnt get enough of this game when I finally got to play it at my cousin's house!

I d give it a perfect 10. On everything.

yea, that's why I say online screen shots and vids SUCK at comparing to what's at home on HDTV.

We shouldn't even be comparing versions of any screens from a version we have not played at home IMO.

Or lack thereof. (anisotropic filtering)

hm? There are different filters you can use to upscale images (point, bicubic, lanczos, mitchell etc) to attempt image smoothing, resulting in blur usually. Are you referring to AF on objects in the distance? (I'm probably having one of those brain farts after being awake for so long  ).

Sorry I just borrowed the filter word for my addition to this thread ;) I'm not sure about upscaling but as long as you can see in Pic 2 in Rockster's post AF seems not present.

Ah I see. :) hm... It could just be the floor texture lacking detail (combined with the weird blur going on in the entire image). The "detail" seems mostly intact as you look from front to back (as far as I see at any rate :p ). In the third shot, the background floor looks like an entirely different surface, but it does look extremely blurry compared to the raised tiles in the foreground.

Article about VF5 360

No pics or videos, just discussion on what went through the decision of making VF5 for X360, and other things

Looks like a transcript from the videos posted in the original post. Good find.

edit: actually, I guess they just highlight what they think are the main points. It's not a word-for-word transcript.
