[360] Splinter Cell: Conviction

Sam doesn't have a backpack of gadgets this time. Use what's around you and improvise to get out of a sticky situation.

Sam Fischer or MacGuyver... you decide

in all seriousness though I'm really interested in this game now - I always found with the other splinter cells I owned (the original, and then Chaos Theory) that i'd love it at first, gawp a little at the visuals, then get bored before finishing the game... this new "formula" sounds more like something I could get stuck into properly.

New form of lighting called indirect lighting means that the way light reflects off your surroundings affects how light is cast on you and nearby objects. Light reflecting off a large red poster will cast nearby things in a slight tint of red.
I have to say, game graphics are just like fashion. What's old becomes new again.

I knew it was all realtime!:D

The action sequences should be awsome, imagine playing the same stage twice but end up with a bunch of different situations because of how you approached it, and none a scripted. Grab a chair, knock someone out with it, throw it at someone else, run over a desk, get your gun out (oops no more ammo!), reload stressfully as the knocked out enemy gets back up and draws his gun out, do some blind shooting over the desk then quickly hop to the next desk to get closer to him, use the butt of your gun to knock him out cold, kick the door and run the heck out of there!

It's the same when PS3 developers say their game is impossible on 360 while in reality it (most probably) is possible. These are just PR statements, you shouldn't care about them all that much.

AO light/shadow global system will not be used for stealth gameplay? Wtf? Is this SC or a 3rd person action crossover? I'm going to miss sneaking around. Although if they take a route more akin to metal gear solid I'd be happy.

They never said that SC C wasn’t possible on ps3 in the first place .

Anyway glad to see UBI is finally doing something with this franchise

He also states that he doubts they would be able to achieve what they are doing on the 360, on the PS3, even if it were exclusive to that platform.

But its the same basic PR crap every developer whos doing a exclusive game does

How do you know which translation is correct though? I tend to not trust people on PS3Forums. They might be right in this case though. Well, next week Ubi is making their show so we'll hear a lot of PR from them anyway.;) But but who cares about PR stuff, it's tha game that should interest us.

Good point but this isn't the first time some clown “quotedâ€￾ a dev from what he said in a mag and it turned out to be ain’t what was said in the mag.
