New titles, interesting sequels and great online games!
Total and complete ownage!

Just to make a comment, you really should take off the games that are multi-console. Only post games that are strictly XBox exclusive if you want to make a real list.

Multi-console games run and look best on Xbox :D most of the time.

Maybe so, (that's up to individual perspectives) but you were commenting on games for the system and with that, you should update your list.

Don't forget Tork, Crimson Skies, Midtown Madness 3 Live, RTCW Live, Apex Live?, Top Spin Tennis Live, Raven Shield Live?, and possibly DOA4 and Doom 3. Plus I'm sure there will be even more new games announced at E3.

Even if the games end up looking better on Xbox that doesn't prevent owners of other console from enjoying them. And I'd say there's a good chance more than a few of those games will look best on PS2.

PGR2 is a 2004 title and why mention PSO which is already out on Cube in a superior version with GBA support?

Nay, it does not matter. :D

Now i just checked PS2 and GC 2003 relase dates and i am sorry to say this but the Xbox will provide a much better gaming experience in 2003. 8)

PS2 does excel in Japanese RPGS, fans of the genres will love what PS2 has for them in 2003. Great Japanese RPG season on PS2. :) but that's about it sadly. :(
PS2 has not much new and interesting games to show for in 2003, and multi-console games will, for 95% of the time, be the worst on PS2. :(

GC has a few kewl games for 2003 and IMHO is looking more interesting than PS2. But it needs just a little bit more interesting US 3rd party games to completely kick PS2 in the ass and establish itself in the US.

I would not be surprise to see Xbox greatly close the gap on PS2 and leave GC behind in 2003, in the US of course.

Online gaming heaven for all Xbots in 2003.

Huh? In EGMs review of PSO for GC Shane mentions that it could be even better on Xbox with the headset for Live play, plus I don't think you have to pay a monthly fee on Xbox.

You're misinformed. The Gamecube version of PSO is being improved and released on Xbox with at least one extra character.

Not to mention running at better framerates, but yes, graphics does not matter that much.
At least Xbox will look more appealing than PS2 to new and old buyers. It has the games, it has the graphics, so why still get PS2 or why still stick to PS2(unless you are a Japanese RPGS nut)?

PGR2 in 2004? Sorry about that boo-boo. :(

Why mention PSO?
Simple, because it is on the Xbox :D thus it is another good reason to get Xbox. And i would not be surprise if PSO Xbox will be a better play experience than the current GC version.

IMHO PS2 interesting titles for 2003

Red Dead Revolver
Dark Cloud 2
Getaway
DMC2
.hack
Xenosaga
Tenchu 3
Star Ocean 3
Breath of Fire 5
Silent Hill 3
ZOE 2
Driver 3
Mega Man X7
Guilty Gear XXX
Everquest Online
Frequency 2 Online
Resident Evil Online
Auto Modelista Online
FFXI Online
Splinter Cell
Starcraft Ghost
True Crimes
Rayman 3
Full Throttle 2

Great list of Japanese RPGS and overall a very Japanese lineup.
Aside from FFXI and REOnline, PS2 Online games are meh.

IMHO interesting GC 2003 lineup

Summoner: Prophecy
Skies of Arcadia
WWE Crush Hour
Ura Zelda
Zelda: Wind Waker
1080
PN03
Viewtiful Joe
Camelot RPG
Dead Pheonix
Doshin Giant
F-Zero
FF: Crystal Chronicles
Killer 7
Mario 128
Mario Kart
Dr Driller
Pokemon
Pikmin 2
Star Fox Armada
Tales of Phantasia
The Hobbit
Virtua Fighter Quest
Yu-Gi-OH!
Splinter Cell
True Crimes
Mafia
Rayman 3
Starcraft Ghost

A mix bag with no famous 3rd party sequels(which is really refreshing) but there are quite a number of "new" games on GC. 8)
Not much happening online for GC but you can be sure multi-console games will run respectably well on GC.

So how is my 2003 list? Took it off IGN release dates site.
Do you not think Xbox will have a great 2003 now? 8)

Perhaps in your opinion. Personally, there are very few games on that list I would be even remotely interested to play. Not to mention that you've put a bunch of games on it that we know nothing about aside from the fact that they're in development.

Full Throttle II is only listed as a PC and PS2 title at LucasArts.com btw.

> why still get PS2 or why still stick to PS2

Because unlike what you've managed to convince to yourself is the case PS2 actually has vastly better 3. party support than Xbox. And some ppl do enjoy those Japanese games you seem to think don't count.

Ah yes... play games on your GBA or listen to a bunch of geeks talking trash. What to choose, what to choose.

> for Live play, plus I don't think you have to pay a monthly fee on Xbox.

You have to pay for a Hunter License. Of course they have to release the game first.

Still won't have GBA games. With all the ppl constantly asking for another Nights game you'd have to think the original Nights being included as a GBA mini-game in the Cube version translates into a rather big advangtage.

Ah. Then I don't disagree with your original statement.

Although I'm not sure that the GBA link-up for mini-games outweighs an extra character, extra items, likely faster load times, and voice communication, I guess that's for everyone to decide for themselves :p

Of the top of my head non-rpg kick@ss, some already on u'r list, some not... Zoe2, SH3, MGS3, BoF5, GT4, Onimusha 3, Devil May Cry 2, Megaman game ONLINE unannounced but likely Syphon sequel, Parasite Eve sequel, CASTLEVANIA SEQUEL...

EDIT: OOPS I MEANT GT4 ONLINE NOT MEGAMAN :EDIT

To me the best games are rpgs... so...

GC has a few kewl games for 2003

GC a few? Again some are on u'r list.... Zelda is goody goody... FF rulez, VF is good... and u have to admit the Capcom 5 are looking promising and if Mario kart(especially online.) makes it, and a console version of F-zero... It will be FAR more than competent. Oh yeah!!! cube also gets megaman game.

If Kart comes out.... and it's online....

Oh Japanese games are fine, they are very fine. It is just when we get the 2s, 3s, 4s, 10s, with little changes, they do get stale fast. :D
PS2 is the main culprit for a bad case of sequelitis. :p
GC lineup looks more refreshing, as i have said.

It is not only my opinions but the opinions of not Japanese gamers. Xbox is always a dead console for Japanese gamers but the US and European gamers will love the variety of games Xbox offers. :D In the US, sales charts are dominated by Western games recently.

On average, Western games are superior in gameplay to their B-grade movie-maker wannabes Japanese counterpart.
I am grateful that Xbox is bringing in new fresh Western developed games to the console scene.
So should you all.

I agree that this is the main problem of the japanese industry, (except Sega in general and not this year where they are on life support, and Nintendo).

we have a new opinion leader.

yes, they are, but it is not a completely new thing. Western games have sold for many years (Tomb Raider, Lemmings, Vrally, CMR, Rayman, Driver, Aladin, Mortal kombat, GE, crash bandicoot are all multi million sellers)

On average, Western games are superior in gameplay to their B-grade movie-maker wannabes Japanese counterpart.
I am grateful that Xbox is bringing in new fresh Western developed games to the console scene.

Competition and emulation are good for the industry as a whole, until you are not falling in the "we will teach the japanese a few lessons" syndrome (change japanese by american for the opposite clan).

Well, on average we know that PC games have deep gameplay mechanics than console games. Console games, to their credits have better plot structure and presentation.

IMHO, PC games might not be as popular with causals, as console games is because of the environment they are played, and not because of the game itself.
Hunch up close face first into tiny monitors, keyboard and mouse and not to forget the tons of different hardware configuration.

Now that we have the great Xbox, we can see more PC games being play at a comfy environment for everyone. ;) The greatness of PC gameplay will finally be upon console gamers.
