One case for the 9070 at MSRP is mine (unfortunately). The only relatively modern PC I have that could take a modern GPU upgrade is in a Micro ATX case that can only accommodate a smaller card. I'd happily spend the extra $50 MSRP if I could get a 9070xt that would fit in my case, but since I can't the smaller card and lower TDP are selling points.
It doesn't feel good, but it is what it is.![]()

There has been 5070ti's for 1630, I actually got one this week from scorptec. I had to jump on it before reviews of the 9070xt so was bit of a gamble but everything panned out about where I expected so is what it is. I gave it to my soon to be brother in law yesterday, I think his eyes lit up more over that than if I had gone with a stripper instead lol.Did the Powercolor 9070XT Reaper not fit? It's proper 2 slot (width and height) and locally for me was the cheapest card by some margin. I didn't buy it because I wanted something a bit larger and quieter.
I managed to nab a Sapphire Pulse 9070XT for a not so great $1299 AUD. I was looking for a Powercolor Hellhound for $1239 but it sold quick at all 3 stores I was on. I could not consider the Powercolor Reddevil or any XFX models for the same $1299 because they're too big for my case. $1299AUD is not great, but Gigabyte and ASUS models started at $1349 and went up to $1449 so that's a hell of a lot worse. I honestly would prefer Sapphire to either of them, even if it's the Pulse model. This time around their Pulse model has a nicely mid sized cooler anyway, should be quiet enough.
Local MSRP of 5070ti here is $1509 and those models are obviously long gone, with the cheapest right now being $1899 for a Gigabyte windforce (should be MSRP model). So $600 more is a no deal. A 5070ti would be nice as it can do some path tracing and has better upscaling/reflex support but that's just too much money. $1299 for a card that will hopefully last me 2 years is ok enough.

Unlucky. Although nowhere near as bad I do feel your pain. My ATX case will only take 338mm and a lot of cards are either quite small < 300mm to the extent that they would surely be louder than larger cards or very large at >340mm. Luckily for me Sapphire seem to be sticking to 320-330mm for the time being.Would you believe 4mm too long? Might be close enough to cram it in, but...![]()
Is it actually delivering lower FPS than the 6900 XT in raster-only titles for you? That would be surprising, because according to benchmarks the 9070 XT beats the 7900 XT in raster, which in turn beats the 6900 XT.I think in pure raster the 6900Xt might still have an edge though which is probably the weakest point of this generation.
My 9070 OC just came today. Paid £525, wanted XT but missed out. Some how OC at non OC msrp price.Price wise there is no real comparison, I bought my 6900XT during Covid when scalping was killing value so it cost me ~£999 compared to the £700 I've paid for hte 9070XT which is a much better all round card for the price.
I should have clarified that it feels slower (I forgot to run any benchmarks before I swapped it out), there seems to be more frame pacing issues than with the 6900XT but that might just be me. In titles with ray tracing enabled there is no competition. The 9070xt is simply miles ahead. Is it actually delivering lower FPS than the 6900 XT in raster-only titles for you? I had a similar thing when I ordered my xt version. No communication and no update on delivery - but the same card showed up as in stock and then out of stock a couple of time on the site. The paranoid part of me was thinking that they were just waiting for me to contact them so they could say there's been a problem with my order and I have to re-order at the latest price. My 9070 OC just came today. Bought on release day, Friday they said would be yet another week and gave other options. Then when I never responded was sent out next day. Think they wanted me to cancel so they could sell at new price.
Been waiting on ARC B770 for well over a year as my R580 been faulty but as Intel has still been quiet about anything in the 7XX class needed to get something at reasonable price. If I waited would've been lot more with no signs of it going down any time soon if ever.
Right now same card is £640, white is £630
Don't really get to play much so this will easily do me for a very long time.
FSR4 looks to be good enough.
Wonder if it's CPU now, what you running?I should have clarified that it feels slower (I forgot to run any benchmarks before I swapped it out), there seems to be more frame pacing issues than with the 6900XT but that might just be me. My CPU is a 5900X paired with 64GB (3600MHz) DDR4. But I think I figured out what the issue with frame pacing was. I didn't run DDU after installing the card to have a clean driver install as, both cards using Adrenalin, I didn't think it would be necessary. After rectifying that I can say that the pacing issues have disappeared.Wonder if it's CPU now, what you running?
Does it still feel frame pacy if you run it at same settings as before.
