talking about Operation C and Super Probotector from the Contra Anniversary Collection.....

I've beaten Operation C, I'd recommend the H weapon, it's always a life saver.

Super Probotector also beaten, on easy mode. I lost a lot of practice compared to when I played it intensively on emulation and I could beat the game on hard without save states, those were the days....

Speaking of Probotector, who else noticed the near exact clone of it in Cyberpunk on the arcade machines? I thought that was pretty cool.

it'd be certainly nice to give that Contra style game a try. I don't have the game yet though. I'm more into games like the first Red Dead Redemption, The Witcher, Skyrim or Elden Ring when it comes to open world games, but not into GTA or Cyberpunk 'cos of the urban setting.

Long time no see! Came across our brief discussion about Episode 1 Racer over on Vogons from EIGHT years ago now Davros! Reminded me of the good days here on b3d. Read the forum was shutting down, then was overjoyed to read it did not! Thanks for keeping the stead and posting some real gems I'm finally starting to play some old classics I never did, or never finished. Just played Giants Citizen Kabuto, Spec Ops The Line, I'm currently playing through Battlezone 2, and onto my 9,472nd replay of a very updated Freespace 2 haha. Just on this page alone you've reminded me of some ancient awesome games I never really finished or played, like Gunmetal and Hostile Waters 2. Keep them coming, I'm finally at a point in life where I want to get back to playing all those late 90's / early 2000's janky games I never quite got around to!! Going to play Homeworld 2 in the coming months - LOVED HW1 and Cataclysm when they came out, can't really remember why I never played 2
