Windows 2003?

I was wondering if anyone has used windows 2003 and what their impressions are of it. I'm thinking of upgrading from 2000.

2003 is a server Version, but from what i'Ve read its quite ok, but way to expensive to use it as a desptop system

I was under the impression that it was a straight update to 2000, with a professional version and what not.

Is there supposed to be a professional/home type version of it coming out?

The upgrade from Windows 2000 is Windows XP Pro. Windows Server 2003 is the upgrade for Windows 2000 Server.
