Hello B3D-ers
My 3 years old notebook suddenly getting slower with erratic data transfer performance. After i run a surface scan, HDDScan says that there a are some blocks shown in RED (bad sector?).
Here is the story (please bear with my english )
----------
the funny thing is, SMART says my HDD still OK. But if i run the SMART check manually from Ubuntu, it will says that sector blah blah blah error.
the funnier thing is, my SSD transfer rate also become erratic to the point of opening start screen (Windows 8) took a few secs.
The most weird thing is, when i swap the HDD/SSD slot. It works fine for a day then the problem happens again.
-----------
So, what should i do?
I'm not sure if i buy new HDD it will fix my transfer problem. The laptop itself are pretty abused for 3 years+. It almost never turned off, it transported while turned on, it has been dropped multiple times.
HDD problem? Motherboard breaking? or my windows 8 thats error?
Thanks for your replies.
