GTX 260+280+285 has finally posted a larger month over month increase than 48xx. Possible that rumors of impending ATI DX11 release may be impacting ATI sales as it isn't so much that sales of GTX 260-285 have increased much but that sales of ATI 48xx has dropped quite a bit.

AMD CPU's still lost a smidgeon (0.02) but at least they stopped the outright bleeding for a bit.

Windows 7 x64 see's the largest increase +1.21% followed by x86 at +0.61. Good sign of increasing x64 adoption. Perhaps the next iteration of Windows will go full x64 with all 32 bit operations done through emulation? IE - no x86 variant. That would be a godsend.

Regards,
SB

Wouldn't GT200 sales be affected by the upcoming generation as well?

Maybe Nvidia customers aren't as well informed. Or just not likely to switch, perhaps.

Silent_Buddha: The DX survey also reflects users upgrading from Win XP to Vista, not only sales of new hardware.

Windows XP has lost 10% in the past eight months. Also:

If you want to play older Windows games you'll still need XP for hardware acceleration as Win 7's XP mode does not support hardware acceleration.

Thx. It seems the gtx200s mirror the amd 4800 then at a lower level. The gap is close to constant since may.

Anyone compiled a list of games that run under Xp but not Win7 ?

Seconded. Is 7 any less compatible than Vista? I just played through Max Payne in Vista64; at first the sound didn't work but I found a fix for that.

Otherwise all my old games (some much older than that) I've tested work really well.

True but keep in mind that the 4800s includes value chips like 4830 and 4850, and mobility GPUs. GTX200 OTOH is only performance segment. Actually a pretty impressive uptake.

Aren't they eating their own margins by having people jump from G80/G92 to the now very low priced GT200's?

Eating their own margins? Would their margins be higher if people didn't buy GT200's and kept their old cards instead?

I was trying to look for another word, my Lexicon failed me.
What I ment was, pre Rv770 people would upgrade to G92 from <G80. Now we're seeing the split 4:3 for Rv770 vs. GT200. Praise growth, deny loss of marketshare.
