I think the Spiderman video is an outlier. That video is not even on the official PlayStation channel. It's on the Marvel Entertainment channel. If you look at the PlayStation channel their most watched exclusive game video is God of War 3 gameplay from E3 2016 & has 19.7 million views. They only 4 more exclusive game videos greater than 10 million views. Their highest rated E3 2017 video is God of War Be a Warrior gameplay with 7.6 million views.

Yeah, you beat to the punch here.
It'll be interesting to revisit the stats in a week's time when the more casual gamers, or those just busy with real life things, get a chance to catch up, read articles and follow links to videos to check things out.
It's a possibility. But looking how Halo Infinite falls in at #6 and Gears 5 at #39, doesn't seem XBOX 2018 E3 was lacking userbase viewership, more like certain games just didn't standout that much.

This argument only explains a part of the difference. Just look at other MS exclusive titles outside of Halo and compare them to Sony exclusives.
Also, since the PS4 also performs well outside of the USA, their view count tend to be much more scattered on several Youtube channels.

They're casual, it'll take days or weeks for them to catch up. That's why I'm interested in the stats in a week.How do viewer rates for the big conferences for E3 2017 look now? It doesn't help that you can find these on different channels like IGN, Polygon etc. The stats are split across outlets duplicating coverage with their own top-and-tailing (pre and after shows etc).

the conference is also almost a 1.5m viewers across their official mixer channels. I actually watched the giant bomb stream which had 88k views vs 69k for sony. I haven't even looked at twitch streams either. There are a lot of ways to watch all this stuff. At work we had the IGN app running watching the Ubisoft stream and all their live coverage.
That's why I don't believe the Xbox E3 conference was lacking viewership. However, the debate is more about the aftereffects (interest, secondary viewings, repeated visits, etc...) from the conference and it's games, that could hold some analytical value (i.e., what's trending, likes/dislikes, potential sales, etc...).
I think its just spread to much across to many platforms and videos to really tell. Lets also not forget that viewing does mean sales.

Well of course. But, the same applies to preorders as well (no guarantees, other than potential sales). And yes, potential sales can be extrapolated from analytical data, of all manners, including video platforms which can provide feedback, trending patterns, likes/dislikes, repeated visits, unique visits and so-on. I'm pretty sure Disney/Marvel, Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox and other Film and Production companies do gauge consumer interest and potential sales from trailers released on social media video platforms, such as YouTube.
