Xbox 360 Best GAMES

Kameo: Played about 10 minutes and was disappointingly bored. What a terrible first level. I've heard it gets better so I've got my fingers crossed.

I'm curious why people hate this first level so much, was it the controls? Didn't you find it fun to expereiment wth the 3 characters and their moves?

I thought it was an excellent way to show you what the game is all about, and give you a little teaser of what the warriors are like, and some of their upgraded moves.

I had a blast on the first level, from running over trolls with major ruin and watching them stick to his shell as he rolls around, to using chilla to toss em up in the air and impale them on my back, to shooting dragons out of the air with chilla icicles, or using pummel weed's combos to go into warrior focus slo-mo, it was tons of fun.

I dunno, i picked up the control scheme in about 10seconds, so that was no issue, I'm thinking that must be the reason so many complain about this level.

I think I have to agree with that, I also have to say to me Kameo is the best 360 game I played sofar, and thats something I didn't expect

The game has blown me away with it'a sheer quality. It's the definition of the word polished.

The reviews are blowing my mind though, I mean Gamespot gave it a perfect review(i.e. right on the money), but many other sites are trashing it, and by any measure it's an excellent game, it's not even debateable. On GFX alone this game gets a 7, even if gameplay sucked, but gameplay is actually completely kick ass, anything under 8.5 for Kameo is pretty much a joke.

All I can think is, many people have just been following this game WAY to closely, and after 4 years they are over-hyped? I dunno, I never head of Kameo until 6 months ago, and so I have no history of waiting for or being hyped for this game. It seems every review that knocks it ALWAYS says something about "4 years in development blah blah" as if that has anything to do with teh quality of the game.

Anyways, it's an instant classic IMO, far better than wind waker, and on the heels of ocarina of time, hopefully gamers will appreciate this game it deserves to be an absolute smash hit.

I finally gave it a second chance and totally dig it now. I stand by my first impression though: that opening level is just terrible, and not so much from a control standpoint, since the controls are fine, but more from the standpoint of giving the player a chance to get oriented. It mostly felt really pointless and the dark environment, though impressively detailed, was a tad grotesque.

It was about half-way through the first level that it went from bored to fun. I still think it's asking a lot to throw three elementals at the player at once, each with a special attack, and tips every 10 feet. But it really wasn't about being overwhelmed or that I struggled with the controls--I just was bored with what I was doing. Not anymore though, I had a great time once I got into it.

Oddly enough, I'm still on the fence on PD0. I played coop with a buddy of mine and that was fun. The levels feel freeform and large, but perhaps a bit too difficult to understand what you're supposed to do.

The one big suprise for me is how addictive it is trying to get my gamerscore up by unlocking achievements. It's still pathetically low but mainly because I keep jumping from game to game. But I really like the gamerscore concept...

I'm at 230. I think about 100 came from Kameo and the rest from PGR3. I haven't even touched PDO or CoD2 yet, other than to start them up and watch the intro.
