DAve already said that it wasn't for power. Somebody thought it might be a usb connection or something...

OK, thanks...;) I wonder...if that ties in somehow with ATi's recently announced USB TV Tuner for desktops and laptops, in some fashion...?

Here is what plugs into it. If you guys can't recognize this, then you worry me. :)

Edit: Okay, I'll give you a hint. It is typically used in A/V applications, but it has nothing to do with USB or IEEE 1394.

According to the site you linked to, the yellow connector should be for power (for the vivo options of the -what-ever-), and didn't Dave say it's not for power?

I hope it's component video in. YPrPb+GND, perhaps.

Could be the more common, "4-pole" AV connector though. Audio L/R + SVHS/CVBS.

Why would that be internal?

Maybe it hooks into a little floating card that screws into the next PCI slot on the case. Sort of how Creative does it with their Joystick Ports. Instead of having them on board, they have their own floating card that screws into the PCI slot.

Unlikely when you consider that two generations of ATi cards have been able to pass component video via DVI-I.

Re: S-video?

Available 4-pin motherboard header for video (we don't know of any boards w/this type of header)

Hmmm...

Interesting device, that cardreader, huh?

Is that another yellow 4-pin connector on that device?

Sounds like a crimp housing, though I'll be damned if I have any idea what that is.

Is the X800 a sound card or a video card? Audio L/R would require 4-pins in and of itself (L/R+common+gnd).

I've been hearing some cool things about the AIW part. But it won't be announced whenever ATI announces their other parts .

CD-Audio cable thing obviously. At least that's where I've seen it before.

I know what the yellow thing is, but I'm sworn to secrecy wrt to all things ATI. It's not power.

You will get some benchmark numbers on Tuesday from us.
I'm thinking TheInq is full of shit, if they had a X800 inhouse they wouldn't be posting all the dumb rumours they've been posting about the thing.

The yellow connector on that is power connector for the s-video / video-in

I really have no idea what it is. I'm simply speculating based on the information at hand.
