X06 Alan Wake Impressions

How is it a rip of "The darkness"???The 2 games have absolutely nothing in common.(not to mention that developmnet on both started at about the same time).

On the other it does sound slightly similar to Silent Hill ,but what's so bad with that??There have been many SH-influenced games allready like fatal frame and Siren and i bet that in the end Alan Wake,being a Remedy game,will play and feel much different compared to SH.

well, it's a rip of darkness, cause darkness seems right now the closest think on ps3 :LOL:
 
Hmmm, who knows, maybe it was a good idea by MS to pick this up to be exclusive, lets see though how it fares when it is ready, I am still not confident that there is that big fanbase for this kind of game...
 
One has to wonder if this has anything to do with the high PC hardware requirements... I mean a dual core CPU for minimum??

Why would they hold back the console version then? Since that part will likely make them more money, and if they were not having issues with it, then they'd certainly go ahead and ship it I'd imagine.

its a vista only title as well though. they wouldnt sell any reasonable number of PC copies if they released in mid 07. Only problem is the game is going to look quite aged in 2008 when we're seeing stuff from 2009/2010 release tables. I'd even expect reasonable discussions about Xbox 3 to be underway as well. It looks quite decent now but over a year is a hell of a long time. Look at STALKER or Doom 3.

I'm actually quite dissapointed in the new launch year, doesnt bode well at all for any game thats given the impression as being a "coming soon" title. Remedy doesnt exactly release a ton of games. When are we going to see Max Payne 3, 2015 when we're colonizing the moon? :devilish:

Personally i feel like it should just be written off as a loss and forgotten about until the day comes when its on shelves, much like DNF or Stalker.
 
It is dissapointing, especially since it was one those to look out for titles for me, but I don't think this could be a surpize for MS, they must have known before hand that the game is aiming for that kind of time frame and I guess they have quite a few high profile games for 07 so maybe it isn't all to bad to keep something for 08, especially since they would like to have some high profile games to promote Vista as well. Then again there is this small glimse of hope that they are refering to the vista game only for some reason. They usually release the xbox games a few months before the PC versions...
