Will get PS3, not XB360

Please be nice your going to hurt my feelings and make me cry London-Boy, if I couldn't post on BY3d I think I would just kill myself because life just wouldnt be worth living.

PS....If you really are in London do me a favor and walk over to BT's data center downtown and give em a giant kick in the prunes for being so worthless and lazy.

"I don't think there's any XB360-exclusive knockout title but I sure know of one for the PS3."
I think everyone else appreciated that was the OP's personal point of view. There's no knockout title for him on XB360 based on his idea of what a knockout title is.

It's very frustrating when everyone can only really talk about personal opinions on such matters, yet on a forum often one's required to attach IMO's and various other disclaimers. Posts can become unneccesarily long just being padded out with constant reminders of what everyone should appreciate without needing these reminders.

"There are no games worth getting on PS3" is a sweeping statement, but totally subjectve and ergo, only valid to the principles of the poster of such a statement. It could be lengthened to "IMO there are no games on PS3 that I'm interested in" to explicitly state the obvious, but that seems a waste of time.

Well that's obviously too much for him to grasp. He doesn't even know who Reverend is. Maybe if he did he would have read that in a different light.

Becasue it's just a tottaly assnine thing to say, to say that about any of the current or next gen Consoles weather it comes from N, Sony or Microshaft makes the post starter look very bad and tottally biased\Blinded.

London-Boy I'm sorry for being a smart ass I do respect many people's(Even Shifty) opinion around here but come on, when people say sh1te like that you just get written off by more level headed poeple that see value in all the next\current gen consoles I don't care how long you ahve been here or how many posts you have.

Your comments are completely over the top considering the first post and stop making personal attacks.
As i said, if you don't like it, don't comment on it.
But obviously you feel the need of "defending" your new favourite console. As if there was a need.

I'm not defending anything if someone would have came in here and made the same topic refering to the Xbox360 and Halo 3 I would have said the same thing.

And when did I personally attack anyone, I said I was sorry for unnecessarily being a smart ass, either excpet it and move on or continue acting like a little kid. I will posts no more in this topic, sorry to shit in your corn flakes.

edit:...In closing I would more expect these type of topics fromXbox fans. Wether the 360 comes out first or not it will still be the under dog this generation, I just don't get the "I want your console A to fail becasue I prefer console B" attitude.

I must admit I kind of agree with core, although hes attitude is quite troublesome.

This kind of topic, even coming from reverend, is more of a flame baiter than many others that get locked in here. Just MHO.

I must ask though, what's the purpose of this thread? Is this some kind of feel better about not being alone thing? I mean do you all ps3 early adopter wanabes just wana feel better about knowing there are many others like you in face of the 360's menace? Kinda stupid if that's so.

OT: Quite funny dicusion the london boy and core have here lol.

See now to me this is the kind of remark that would spin this thread out of control. Yes, this isn't the best thread in the world and yes it pisses of the Xbox fans and give joy to the PS fans, but before people broke in with "this is garbage" there was a decent though Off Topic discussion about what MS will have to overcome this holiday season and views on the success of the launch. It might have started out as trouble, but it didn't end up that way. Seriously, it's an innocent enough comment. The fact that the console war has spun to the point that one can't even announce their preference and reason for a console is the REAL shame here. Yes, a whole thread, I know, but this is Reverend... it kinda goes, I guess... LOL.

Who is Reverend?
He used to be a big part of the site but as time went by he became less and less involved and now likes to come in and start some flame bait threads

Meh.

For me MGS has been an up and down series that peaked with MGS on the PS1. I hated MGS2 and only felt MGS3 was okay.

MGS had really impressed me at that time for the small gameplay touches like the Psychic Boss and what not. MGS2 was good for an insomia cure and MGS3 was....well just....decent.

One trailer wont sell me on a PS3 although I am probably gettin one w/ a 360 anyway.

It wasn't pure luck that kept this thread decent for a while, it was the people who chose to post actually posting constructive things. It's not that difficult people, if someone posts an opinion you don't hold, nothing says you have to get defensive over it or even respond to it.

Yes, but wouldnt you agree it was in spite of the topic?

These threads are really getting nasty. I can't believe how bad this forum is getting. Swearing and cutdowns.

This thread is funny.

Seeing as how Rev has professed his love for John Carmack, and how John Carmack has professed his love for XB360, one would think that Rev would not totally rule out the XB360.

I'm guessing Rev started this thread for no other purpose than to rattle some f@nboys' cages.

Powderkeg I see you are insistent in maintaining your position, so I'm not going to bend over backwards to argue you. Nontheless, you are commiting a fallacy by trying to lump all consumers into one of two categories, and indeed yesterday's bargain hunter can be today's early-adopter, and vice-versa. Often the 'bargain-hunting' of a console can be to play a new and fully priced game recently released, something you seem not to take into account. Would Dragon Warrior VIII not warrant a PSTwo purchase? For some it might.

But beyond that, I'm just indicating that the contrary is also true. Some of those that may eventually purchase a 360, due to an eventual title (perhaps 2006 or 2007) may not purchase one this year simply because they are not yet 'feeling it.' Not because they are not early adopters at heart - who knows maybe they'll be off early-adopting a new cell phone instead - just because even among early adopters, there sometimes needs to be a catalyst.

EDIT: By the way I don't have an issue with the 360 itself, to be sure. I think it's a fine console with some strong looking games, and I have two on pre-order for either gifts, myself, ebay or some combination thereof. My only issue is the way you discount 'last-gen' hardware that's still getting upcoming AAA game releases as being a 'non-factor.' I mean are these things for the games or aren't they?

But you still missed my most basic point.

A person who has waited until 2005-2006 to buy a PS2 is not a person who would buy a launch system of any kind. These people waited for 5 freaking years without buying a PS2, and the games already out on the system didn't motivate them to buy one sooner. Clearly the upcoming games aren't what is really motivating them. Sequels to games they've already passed up is all they are.

And "early adopting" something that has nothing to do with console gaming makes them even more irrlevent than before. That makes them completely out of the market for a new console, and thus, not something a console manufacturer would worry about at launch. Years down the line, they may worry about this group, but not at launch.

The only people you care about at launch are the ones who would be willing to spend $400+ on a new system, and even more on accessories and games. They are the only ones that matter, because they are the only ones who have even a remote possibility of buying your console. Everyone else doesn't matter, only the potential customers in that time frame.
