Wii hardware details

I haven't seen any details of the hardware in the Wii, like GPU and processor, and how they compare to the GC. What is really known?

that thread has gotten pretty unruly, huge and messy, any good information is lost. For the last few hundred posts people have simply been posting pictures of games and asking ''hows this look?'' or people are posting random stuff to simply help the thread grow bigger. Kinda surprised some mod hasnt taken it out to the pasture yet.

Agreed it would be great to get a summary post/thread of known hardware in Wii. In fact that's what I thought this thread was!

If someone feels like summing up the long Wii thread, stating the facts and the speculations discussed in the thread. Feel free to do it.
That way we could close the long thread and continue the discussion in the new thread, that will permit new folks to partake in the discussion without having to skim through a +100 pages long thread. Just like what we do with the long threads in the 3D Tech forums, at one point we just stop them, start a new thread, sum up the current situation, link to the old thread for reference and continue from there.

StefanS may do that new thread later, but if anyone feels like making that thread and work on that sum-up of the current deal about Wii hadrware, by any means, I'll repeat myself, I know, but feel free to do so. It may even get you some deserved good rep points.

I lock this thread for now, seeing that it doesn't serve any particular purpose.
