Why are UK studios struggling (to make good games?) *spawn

Ok, it's pointless to quibble over this. Let's say Britain punches above its weight in terms of games development studios and still seems to be doing relatively well.

Guildford could technically be classed as London vicinity. For reference, Britain is about the size of one medium sized US state, i.e. Minnesota.
But with a proportionally huge population size. About 11x Minnesota.

Maybe I used the wrong word and maybe its just Sony first party in the Uk not delivering.
Maybe I just had a brainfart but during ps2 times I feel like there was a lot more games coming from the UK. Maybe its just because AAA games have become so big that the output had to slow down.

When in doubt or can't find the point....

Blame Sony.

Is this 2006-2009? Sony are the gaming good guys now.
Woah, steady on! They've still an international MegaCorp who will say anything to get your $$$. I.e, they're just like Microsoft and Nintendo, Activision, EA and Ubisoft :yep2:

Don't let friendly faces and clever PR sucker you into believing anything else.

It could probably be argued that since the 16bit era, the UK's impact has lessened. Back in the day with Bullfrog creating pioneering titles like Populous, and DMA Design/Psygnosis creating Lemmings, et al, the UK had a significant impact on the gaming landscape. If we look at someone like Peter Molyneux, he was amazing with his creation but he's become something of a joke. But that's just the ever-changing nature of the market. I don't think the UK is any worse in the global space now than any other nation.
In fact, there is still hope. Powerstar Golf has been programmed by a British developer and it is on my Top 3 this generation.

Additionally, some of the remakes of Halo TMCC have been created by UK developers.
