Jak and Daxter or JAK2

Onimusha2 or Onimusha1

I liked vehicle based combat as well.....the hovercraft,....the tank...

weird... was gonna pick J&D the other day, to start off the series from the beginning.....

RF2 is cool, but i don't think it's Killzone-quality from what we've heard so far...

if you like platfrom games, you can't go wrong with any of the 2 (jakII or ratclankII) i played jakII and plays and looks fabulous , I didn't play ratchetII but played the first a bit and was equally impressive

maybe rent them first?

what i can say is that JAK2 is a superior game to R&C2.
the first time round it was the opposite, with R&C being better than J&D...

especially in the graphics department, there is very little around at the moment coming close to JAK2...

Currently I am playing R&C....faboulus game....
Shall I get Red Faction1 as well?
After playing RF2 and TimeS2 I realise how pathetic looking(IQ) MoH:F is...though animation is still top notch.

It's your opinion, fair enough ... but you shouldn't state it, like it is a fact.

exactly. one might like the art direction of J&D better than JAK2 (i kinda do to be honest), still it's fair to say that technically JAK2 is probably the most advanced game on PS2 at the moment. by far.
Also one might like one game's gameplay better than the other, but that's all down to taste, personally i havent really played much of any of the 2 so i reserve my opinion to a later time....

Onimusha 1 before 2; can't imagine going back and playing the 1st after beating the 2nd. I haven't touched Jak&Daxter all that much myself, though if you're as indifferent to free roaming platformers as I am, pick up Klonoa 2 if you haven't already.

IMHO: JAK2 > J&D > Onimusha2 > Onimusha1 ... good games they all are
I concur.

Jak 2 looks better than Jak & Daxter for the simple reason that Jak 2 has both colorful environments like J&D had, and gritty looking ones, while managing to meaningfully blend both. From the technical graphics standpoint there's no comparision, Jak 2 is just waaay ahead. Most importantly, gameplay is more fun, diverse, with way better story, IMO. Don't look at it as a platformer, it's an action adventure with all the quality and polished controls you'd expect from a ND platformer. Just an overall excellent game.

As for Onimusha 2, much of the same can be said: Nicer looking than Oni 1, more diverse gameplay, less repetitive.

I've finished it, so after 17h58m I should be qualified to comment:

-gameplay: all the old moves are there and on top of that the gunplay and the hoverboard-mode ... sure it is not pure platform-gameplay anymore, it plays as good as J&D, but much richer

-value: more missions, yet more diversification and a little bit more challenging

-story: better cut-scenes, much more character-driven as part 1, IMHO better story-plot, even with little twists, etc.

-IQ: much better, thanx to AA, filtering, progr-scan, 50/60Hz ... more tearing though, but not so much that it ruins the whole game

-Sound: better, thanx to DolbyPrologic2, very cool voice acting

IMHO: Jak2 > J&D ... oh, yeah and btw anyone should play both games anyway

Yeah, as it turned out, PS2 has a hell of a quality platform department...

I mean, R&C, J&D, Jak2, R&C2 are all AAA titles in their own way and should all be played. They are definately the best platforming games on any platform, especially since only Mario Sunshine can give them competition, and even then i think they're all superior to it (IMO). Unfortunately my wallet is already kinda dry.............

Hum, owning them all, I think SMS is the better game, but I especially like the Ratchet series and I think you forgot Sly Racoon which was a good but linear game. the good point is, unlike like last gen, devs are experimenting different gameplay and prett much all games feel different and are worth to play (except Jak 1 IMO).

Okay. IMHO J&D is a far better game than Jak II, both aesthetically and gameplaywise. Happy now? :)
I just thought that it goes without saying that the moment you start using adjectives, all that follows is personal opinion.

I just think Jak & Daxter overall has a far better flow to it, and the environments are more imaginative and varied.
But again just my humble insignificant opinion, if anyone should wonder.
