Which Graphics Card?

Hello,

I am begining to make the shopping list of components to build my first HTPC, and I am considering which graphics card I need.

I am intending to use the Silverstone LC-18 case, and apart from the usueal media centre functions, will probably be using this pc as a gaming machine as well (to replace my older pc upstairs).

I therefore will need a graphics card which will allow me to play games for the next couple of years, and I was considering the Asus EN7800Gt Top silent as it is fast and quiet.

Does anyone have any comments about this choice, or any suggestions as to what other graphics cards I could be considering?

Fair choice you have made there. I was going to suggest a passively cooled 7600GS, very good value for the money and it does play games, too. But if you're willing to spend more I won't stop you.

I have the same case, and it's surprisingly quiet, so something with a fan might not be objectionable. Depends what sort of noise level you find acceptable.

I don't use my HTPC for games, I use a passively cooled 6600.
