You generally don't travel distances long enough inside a city for the speed difference to make any significant difference. Typically a few minutes, at most...
Standard (probably compulsory) on European cars - it helps stop you getting an unwanted introduction to someone driving behind you. Front fog lights are more of an option.Rear foglights? What do you drive?.
People "sneaking" in heavy traffic typically means they need to change lanes to get to the exit/turnoff to reach where they're going. You should facilitate this by stepping off the gas and letting them in. Showing consideration in traffic means you're statistically more likely to receive consideration in the future, because you'll be inspiring others to act the same way you do. So even from a pure selfishness perspective you'll be helping yourself by helping others.
If I'm in the fast lane and driving at the speed limit (or, more likely, slightly above) and I see you approaching in the rear view mirror...tell me why should I facilitate your breaking of the law, driving recklessly and needlessly endangering other people on the road? I'll stay right where I am, and if you start flashing me, I'll turn on the rear foglights/start pumping the break pedal. Simple as that.
Interesting. I'm not aware of any US cars with rear fog lights.Standard (probably compulsory) on European cars - it helps stop you getting an unwanted introduction to someone driving behind you. Front fog lights are more of an option.
I don't think cars I've owned let me set cruise below 30 mph.I set my cruise control for 24mph exactly 1mph under the speed limit. i cruise down the strip and i stop for any car that wants to cross or person who wants to cross the street. if i see the do not walk signs start blinking on the other side i slow down even further to get the red light.
Alright! Yeah, that's clearly illegal behavior and shouldn't be practised or condoned. However blocking people deliberately when they try to squeeze into a lane (particulary if they're running out of space ahead of themselves) is also dangerous and creating risk of accidents. It's safer to just let him in, and then hang on the car horn to signal your irritation and displeasure with his lack of manners. The guy trying to sneak clearly wants to go the same direction that everybody else is: instead of standing in line with the rest of us, takes the exit lane, drives as long as he can and then tries to get back into the lane where every body else is.
...No. Your point being...?1. Your not a police officer
Driving faster is inherently more dangerous. Elementary physics. Driving significantly faster than the rest of the cars on the road - meaning fast enough to get a speeding ticket - is definitely endangering others. By increasing your speed you're reducing your safety margin - and that of others. Especially at nighttime.2. Driving recklessly and endangering people? That depends on how fast i am going.
One, there's a difference between stomping on the brake and tapping it briefly so that you see the lights come on...and the distance close slightly.3. Hitting the break pedal is surely far more dangerous (mostly for you, because getting hit by say 2,5 tonnes of steel in your ass
Well like I already said, I'm not into letting people drive at whatever arbitrary speed above the speed limit that they personally feel like. Sorry.than you getting out of my way and let me keep going
What color are rear fog lights? I'm guessing yellow since white would be confusing. My Land Rover LR4 HSE has rear fog lights.
Red - they are just brighter versions of taillights. They aren't there for you to see anything but for someone else, coming up behind in mist/fog, to have more warning of your presence. What color are rear fog lights? I'm guessing yellow since white would be confusing.
Well, you learn something new. I never realised US cars didn't have rear fog lights. For those who still aren't sure what they are, think F1 in wet conditions.
You also see red, rear indicators - what a great idea that isThey also aren't required to have front-side turn signals.

Really? I assume almost all cars in the US do though don't they, even if it isn't a requirement?
