What happened to those rumors about Xenon and Revolution...

Being the same machine? I remember a rumor floating around that Nintendo and MS may collaborate on their next-gen machines, with Nintendo creating a lower priced model in the US market (and Xenon taking the 300 dollar price point with hdd) and Nintendo would have full reign in Japan. The fact that both companies chose IBM and ATI as their CPU and GPU provider respectively was touted as evidence. And now there's another rumor that MS is considering the name "Xbox 360" for its machine...well isn't 360 degrees a full revolution? lol

I'll add fuel to the non-existant fire...isn't Nintendo slated to give a keynote speech at GDC, they don't normally have a presence there right? Isn't it MS that used GDC to announce the Xbox last time around? (I doubt revolution or xenon will be announced at GDC, but maybe its a hint at a collaboration).

Well let's be serious for a moment, Sony is apart of a consortium to standardize DVD's, clearly they want a consortium to standardize all consoles and take a piece of the profits of anything made with the specs. Hence Atari is releasing a new Cell based console next-generation, they'll name it the Transylvania 6500.

I believe those rumors started on teamxbox from this post http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=313923 and were shortly thereafter posted on this forum as someone's 'theory'. I believe I remember hearing this idea of the n5=xbox2 from another site but Im having trouble locating that post.

Considering Japanese companies prefer staying Japanese rather than being bought out by foreign enterprises, this is very very very likely never going to happen.
