What acceleration produces one gravity force?

... unless the EU threatens retalliatory tariffs, then the USA caves in quicker than a house of cards.

Next at bat. China.

If Bush thought that keeping the subsidies in place would be a good thing for US security he would of told the EU to go suck an egg. If it comes down to a "trade war" the USA would kill the EU.

Some of the units are no less "random" than imperial. Take the metre for example - it is defined as the distance travelled by an electromagnetic wave in a vacuum over a time interval of 1/299792458.
It's defined that way now but it wasn't always done so.

Anyway, why should we'd still want to use measures that were defined by Imperial Rome? If we kept that we'd should saying that the acceleration due to gravity is something like XXII miles/hr/sec! :)

Job security maybe, not not 'national security'. The EU subsides were going to be targetted at industries in key states Bush needs for 're'election. Bush caved for that reason, and that reason only.

Without strong demand for US product abroad (and no alternatives for buyers), the USA would never win a trade war. The US government couldn't even count on OPEC to continue propping up the US dollar like they've traditionally done.

That's some assbackward logic. Avoiding rational thinking is a strength? Rational reasoning is weak and stupid?
Well, I guess that explains why you feel so good about yourself.

and the very reason certain europeans (and canadians) can sit in their ivory towers seething with rage accussing the US of everything evil under the sun. Perhaps their rage is merely a form of projection; a way for them to rationalize their political, philosophical and economic irrelevance?

Still, we'd have been better off going base 12 anyway. Then everything would be evenly divisible by 2, 3, and 4; which would be much more useful in real life than just 2 and 5.

This would only happen if humans gained an additional finger per hand. :)

Hey now! Where better to start then one's anthropomorphic nature.

I'm not seething, well, maybe against corruption (which is probably what 99% of human problems boil down to anyway). Bush imposed tarriffs for his own politcal gain. Now that it backfired dramatically, Bush backed down to avoid a catastrophe that he created all for himself. It's obvious that Bush backed down because he knew the USA no longer enjoys the economic strength to manhandle whomever they please anymore. The other kids on the playground have started to band together. The EU just proved that. Bush has returned to reality where America is no longer the Goliath people of his mindset still cling to as article of faith.

You can call other people irrelevant if you'd like. Canadians, Europeans, sensible Americans have no need to label others something as nonsensical as being irrelevant. It seems quite obvious to most that behind that mask of American confidence lies an unbelievable amount of personal insecurity. You can do anything you like to make you feel more secure, just don't expect not to be called out on it.

Back to the topic.

Still, we'd have been better off going base 12 anyway. Then everything would be evenly divisible by 2, 3, and 4; which would be much more useful in real life than just 2 and 5.

Not everything. Besides, the world operates primarily with real numbers, not just integers, or at least, that's the way it appears to me. I've never had to do any number theory and I've never really thought about it...

Someone said that we're supposed to have twelve toes and fingers, and that Marilyn Monroe had six toes. Any truth to either?

Everybody goes home a winner with you, eh ?

If it came down to a trade war, hundres of thousands, if not millions, of people would be without a job in nothing flat. What do you think the chances of Dubya staying in power would be then ?

(hint: ZIP)

Which was exploited. The retalitory tariffs the EU put on US goods were selected to hit in states where support for the republican party would suffer the most (ie. Dubya being without a job in roughly a year).

Some [insert nationality here] here will ALWAYS have an issue with [insert nationality here]...
Legion, we get it, you don't like Europeans cause you must have had a bad experience with one (or more) of them... Or maybe a french ex-girlfriend or something... Doesn't make the whole world agaist USA, not anymore than against any other country someone can have a problem with... Except Switzerland maybe, they seem pretty un-hated so far... :D
Can you just try and leave your nationalism out of physics-related threads? Please? There are sooooo many political threads around here you can let it all out, i don't think we need to hear your nagging even here.... ;) Thanx

The facts are that the USA is every country in europes largest trading partner. If the US wanted to destroy the european economy we could easily. I am not saying this would be fun for us either. And then if the people in the US thought there was a "just" reason for doing so.... we would make it so europe would never again be anything of an economic power.

Many europeans hate/dislike us for our attitude. But it is this very thing that keeps us so strong. We don't need or will we take much of anyones shit.

The fact is that you are a loon who doesn't know jack. The USA is not the largest trading partner for ANY country in the EU. The largest trading partner for any EU country is always the rest of the EU.

Now go there and get your ignorant ass educated.

You must be delusional to think that taking away 10% of our commerce would "destroy" our economies. Hurt? Sure. Destroy? LOL!

Typical case of right-wing American megalomania.

If the US wanted to destroy the european economy we could easily.

I am beginning to see a recurring theme here.

"We could kick your asses"
"We could nuke your asses"
"We could destroy your economy"
"My national dick is bigger than yours"

Americans like you seem to take exceptional pride in their abilities to cause death, harm and havoc. That's quite a mindset.

http://europa.eu.int/comm/trade/issues/bilateral/countries/usa/index_en.htm

"The EU and the US are each other's main trading partners and account for the largest bilateral trade relationship in the world. They are also the largest players in global trade."

That is phunny as hell considering your country started BOTH FUCKING WORLD WARS !

Heil Hilter! (Don't make me, we will kick your ass again!)
