So I picked up STALKER in a THQ bundle for next to nothing yesterday.
The problem is pretty simple, if odd.. the game's running too well. It's regularly pegging between 300-400fps, and my video card is absolutely cooking trying to keep up... trying to render hundreds of frames every second that I'm not even going to see. The card's actually running hotter playing STALKER than it does playing Crysis 2.
Now, I know Vsync is broken in STALKER games. Apparently, the "60 Hz" limiter is, too, it doesn't seem to have any effect.
Forcing Vsync through NVidia control panel also doesn't have any effect.. I'm sure it's synchronizing everything beautifully, but it's not capping my framerate.
I need a way to cap framerate to 60 for just this game. Any ideas?
